Most Awesome Deaths In Gaming

Despite being one of the things we do most in video game titles, "dying" is an oft overlooked part of gaming, that can greatly impact our playing experience. Kicking the proverbial bucket in most games will cause your character to simply flop to the ground in a heap, while a "You Have Died" or "Mission Failed" screen slowly appears and everything fades to black.

Then we have the other end of the spectrum, where they take things too far and subject us to minute long sequences and excessive cries of dismay. Can't there be a nice middle ground? Somewhere between "Ho Hum I died" and "LET ME GET BACK TO PLAYING THE GAME YOU BASTARDS!"

Thankfully, a select few developers do understand this oh-so-vital balance, and manage to reward us with death scenes that are not only short, they're packed with so much awesome we can't help but go "Aaawwwwww haw haw.... niiiiiceee". Dying can actually become an enjoyable part of the game!

The article presents a compilation of some of the most awesome death scenes in gaming.
