Game Equals Life has officially announced their first project, The Magi and the Sleeping Star, a health education game aimed at adolescents and adults with type 1 diabetes.
MSS will teach players how to better manage their condition through interactive gameplay and story-telling, according to the developers. It is a 3rd person action adventure game that sends players on a quest during which healthy blood sugar must be maintained in order to achieve success.

This week’s Indie Pleas include: The 7th Guest 3: The Collector, the third installment in the 7th Guest series; The Girl and the Robot, a third-person action-adventure game where you can switch between characters; Taverns & Trolls, where you run a tavern and fight against hordes of enemies; Ever, Jane, a RPG set in the times of Jane Austen where you defeat your enemies with gossip; and Fright Fight, an online multiplayer fighter with horror-themed characters.
I spend so many hours playing "The 7th Guest" when I was a kid. I would love a new game, but seriously, have you seen the promo video ? Come on! It's terrible! If you make a new game, make it look like it's made 21st century at least. It's not even "retro-cool" and I think that the actors are even worst than the originals.

I don't normally think educational games are any good but this seems like a really good idea. Will it appeal to people without Diabetes though?
Hmm.. it reminds me of the asthma game I read a review of on SomethingAwful recently... educational games should be stopped, but maybe it will be good. We!ll see
