id Software Says Doom 4 "Not A Sequel"

1UP: "Not a sequel to Doom 3, but not a reboot either, a little bit different than both, they say.

It'll be a while before we see Doom 4. In fact, according to id Software CEO Todd Hollenshead, they're still hiring staff for the project. But they do know one thing at least.

"It's not a sequel to Doom 3, but it's not a reboot either," Hollenshead told GameSpot. "Doom 3 was sort of a reboot."

"It's a little bit different than those, and if I told you why, I would get my ass kicked when I got back. So I'll just have to leave it at that..."
