GameCyte.com writes: "Looking forward to "F.E.A.R. 2: Project Origin?" Waiting for your change to play the demo? The good news is, Warner Bros. has confirmed (via email) a "F.E.A.R. 2? demo will be available by the end of January on the Xbox 360 and the PS3, stating that it could be out as early as mid-January.
The bad news (for PS3 owners) is that, according to Dark Zero (via 1UP), you'll only be able to download the demo if you're a "Qore" subscriber. For those who aren't familiar with "Qore" (that would be most people outside of North America), it's a PSN-based video magazine, and it sets gamers back $2.99 per episode, or $24.99 for a yearly subscription."
Updates:
Update: According to those who have downloaded the latest issue of “Qore,” it states that the “F.E.A.R. 2? demo should be “expected” on January 15th, which would be this Thursday’s PSN update. I’ve also heard back from a source at Sony, who said that a subscription will be required to download the early demo–but a month subscription should do the trick.
In other words, you’ll just have to buy January’s edition of “Qore” if you want early access to the “F.E.A.R. 2? demo. You’ll still have to pay $2.99 to play it earlier, but at least it’s better than having to pay $24.99 for a 13-month subscription. For those who don’t want to fork over cash to play a demo (or who own an Xbox 360), you’ll get your shot a week later. No word yet on the PC demo’s release date, but it will be “around the same time.”
The original rumor post can be found preserved below (for posterity, and to prove that my earlier theory was incorrect), in the full story.
