Riccitiello says Mirror's Edge will Go Forward

2008 was a departure for Electronic Arts. The mega publisher best associated with their annual sports games and dependence on licensed products and established franchises instead released a number of original, brand new titles this year... and some of them didn't exactly light up the sales charts, Mirror's Edge in particular. Still, despite the lagging sales, EA CEO John Riccitiello has stated they plan to continue the franchise, and many other new properties, going forward.

"We're very pleased with a lot of our new franchises this year," Riccitiello said during an investors conference call yesterday (via MTV Multiplayer). "We think Spore has established a strong base for being an ongoing franchise. We think the same of MySims. Dead Space looks like a long-term big winner for us. We expect Warhammer will continue to perform very, very well, it's life measured in multiples of years, not multiples of months."
