1UP: City Life 2008 Edition Review

City Life: 2008 Edition may be the most recent version of the innovative social-engineering sim from 2006, but beyond the new date stamped on the box cover, there's not much reason for City Life vets to pick up this expansion.

The biggest new draw is the upgraded map editor, which purportedly allows players to import real-world maps and convert them to playable levels. If meticulous topographical editing sounds like your cup of awesome, brace yourself for the excitement -- though my spider sense tells me this feature is probably only for the hardest of the hardcore sim crowd. Beyond the map editor (and some new bundled maps), 2008 Edition features around 60 new buildings, but these just shuffle around the abilities of the old buildings without providing any really impactful modifications or gameplay additions.
