GameTap: World of WarCraft: Wrath of the Lich King Hands-on - A journey of a thousand deaths in the north

GameTap writes: "Supposedly, back when England was financing numerous expeditions to the Artic in the mid-19th century, those expeditions were so hazardous that just surviving one and returning home, even if the trip yielded no new trade route or information, was enough to be given a medal upon homecoming. If that's so, then based on how many times I've died in the very first new dungeon instance in WOW's upcoming expansion, I'd have to be satisfied with a host of posthumous awards.

To be fair, the first instance in Wrath is designed for level 70 players, and on top of that, I wasn't playing my own character, but one that Blizzard provided for editors in a "check out the new WOW expansion" play session.

Before actually jumping right into the Howling Fjord area, Blizzard personnel gave a presentation that dumped a lot of information about this upcoming expansion pack. Like WOW: The Burning Crusade, Wrath will increase the level cap (now up to 80), introduce a whole new continent (the island of Northrend from WarCraft III) filled with new monsters, bosses such as the titular Lich-King himself Arthas, and even a new hero class."
