2007: Best. Year. Ever?

This year has seen the release of a slew of critically-acclaimed games: Halo 3, Rock Band, BioShock, Super Mario Galaxy, Uncharted, etc. It's the best year ever for videogames... or is it?

Well, 2007 had many great games with two of them being my faves and titles I was intensly anticipating, BioShock and Assassin's Creed.
Hopefully 2008 can outperform 2007 with 3 titles of that much anticipation:
Burnout Paradise (Q1)
Fallout 3 (Q4)
Mortal Kombat 8 (TBA / Hopefully 2008)

Definitely this has been the best year for gaming, and this is not meant as a fanboy comment but especially 360, starting with lost planet and ending with Mass effect, i mean sure the Wii had erm- mario galaxy and the ps3 had uncharted, RaC TOD, maybe heavenly sword, and possibly warhawk, though i dont know since i havent played these games, anyway the point is it can only get better from here and no matter which console you get PS3 or 360 you are going to enjoy 2008, its just a shame i cant say the same for the Wii, but how there is always smash bros or wii sports 2?

This is all crap, there is no historical perspective to judge 2007 games compared to classics. Personally, I found it too be good, but not exceptional.

10 - Not for me, atleast not yet

I hope at last get my PS3 for Christmas when I will get my unused vacation check. But for now I'm bored, sold my PS2 in the summer and now I just play Fallout 2, Red alert 2 or CivIV on the lowest possible settings, with slowdowns and in window mode(cuz my monitor supports only 800x600) on my crappy PC :/ Hope in 2008 it'll turn around, with my favorites like MGS, FF and hopefully Ace Combat 6 :/

great year. with games like bioshock (goty), call of duty 4(moty),and the orange box(boty). what else we can ask for?
and for next year: project offset, gow 2, alan wake, huxley, etc.., it might be a better year.

so- so for sony.

Why do fanboys just think MS is just going to disappear next year, as if gamers will not buy a games and developers will not jump in, given the great tools, and support with a decent installment-base?

The thinking is MGS and FF will destroy the Xbox but the xbox is still around and never really had them games. Plus not everybody is into them type of games, I don't know how many times I repeat that.

The key to Ms's xbox is XBL and it's software sales, this is where devs will take notice and either make their games multi or new devs will jump on board. Xbox 360 is not going anywhere. I do see PS3 gaining some momentum because of 3 classic games but by no means they will sell as much as fanboys are believing.

Then again everything with the PS3 is wait and see.
