Guitar Hero 5 vs. The Beatles: Rock Band

When it comes to music/rhythm games, there are two heavyweight contenders to choose from. On one side, you have Guitar Hero 5, Activision's latest (and greatest) in the long-running series. On the other, there's The Beatles: Rock Band, a brilliant pairing of Harmonix's rock franchise and one of the greatest bands to ever grace a stage. GameDaily puts them head-to-head in an all-out battle for rock supremacy. Only one will prevail.

I don't think it should be compared in the first place. It's not like The Beatles is a full fledged sequel as it being a Rock Band 3 or w/e but more of a fan service like GH Metallica was to well, Metallica.

I would say that The Beatles (as a band) is the most overrated piece of trash though.

I agree with you that it should not be compared with GH5. But to say the Beatles is overrated trash is completely wrong. Without the Beatles, there would be no such thing as rock n' roll. They are a genre defining band that changed the world. Play the game and you'll learn why they were so amazing.

1.2 - Beatle FTW
Guitar Hero is, and always was, garbage. The Beatles are one of the best bands this world has ever seen and you have the nerve to disrespect them like that.

Rock Band has always had a cleaner setup, more coherent charts, and better music. The Beatles perfected that formula. You obviously seem like a Guitar Hero F-boy. It's about the music, not how hard the songs are.

You said "The Beatles are the most overrated piece of trash"??? You have it wrong, the entire Guitar Hero Franchise is the most overrated trash in gaming history. I never have, and never will own a Guitar Hero. They're good for a 5 day rental... But I usually take them back in 3 because they consistently ruin songs by either over charting them or charting them inaccurately.

2 - What about innovation?
Party mode (drop in/drop out at will) is the most significant addition to GH. Three-part harmonies (and performance mode, dreamscapes, "Beatle Beats" trainer, etc.) in TBRB is a much bigger innovation, in my opinion. With that said, my 6-year-old likes the Beginner mode better in GH, for what it's worth.
