Well I can tell you playing real guitars feels 100 times better. But I've got nothing against Guitar Hero as long as people don't go thinking they're rockstars or something

I think it's because for every gamer that buys a real guitar 10 buy a plastic one, that's probably whats freakin some of these guys out. Even though fake plastic guitars have existed since the 20th century, albeit they weren't for games. :P

I kinda agree with that. And I am a rock n roll nerd. With a real guitar though, I am free to play songs I like in any order I feel like. On GH/RB I get to 'play' things I wished it was the last time I heard 15 years ago when it was getting constant airplay.

However, I do own one plastic guitar and three made of maple and steel, and, if I had to add up how they cost by hour of play I got from them then Guitar Hero is much more expensive.

Don't get me wrong, I will eventually buy GHWT and/or RB2, but if I had to choose how to try and (hopefully) seduce a girl, I'd go for the six steel strings.

Its a little late to be trashing the plastic guitars, they hit mainstream a long time ago and as the pic shows chicks play them in undies...what more do you want...its a game for crying out loud.

You did not see tap dancers , whinning about Dance, Dance revolution cramping there style...most people just made fun of goofy people on the machines.

(note to guitarists with panty's in a bunch ...relax and use your sense of humor)

Relax and get your girlfriend a plastic guitar sit back and enjoy the performance. Calling gamers nerds....Did'nt they realize grown nerds get about as much H34D as Be3r drinkers, and artists these days anyway? This is no 80's flick.

8 - Plastic is fun!
I play real guitar and i love it and the reason i also love rock band is its fun and easy to do. Something to have fun with others, not worry about people critquing you on everything you do, and it allows you to feel like your playing something cool. No it wont win you chicks or get you money but its fun and thats what games are for.

Now to the people that play guitar hero and think they are so badass are the people that make real guitar players mad. "Hey i can play guitar hero on expert, im so good at guitar im like a real rockstar" No your not! If this is you, you have no life! Get to expert and HAVE FUN thats all, nothing more! Its not a life career, its not a job, its not a skill, its a GAME.

Well, I'm sure a girl would take her pants off for a real musician, than a plastic guitar hero gamer. Or men, if you're like that.

That point alone, makes real guitar better. Of course, there are plenty of other reasons.

a comment like that coming from him, a guy and his band where all their songs sound the same and for some reason ppl like them.

Slash (an AMAZING guitar player) has actually been quoted saying he likes GH and thats why he was a part of GH3.

yes its true, women like a guy that can play an instrument.
no trombones, flutes or clarinettes. Guitars, Drums, Piano those kind they like and drop the panties faster than superman on laundry day.

i just started playing guitar and the little bit that i've learned and practiced in front of some females......... lets just say you know what happened. something about it they like, and it works out to whoever is the player. Even on a plastic instrument, some girls find it cute and are some what impressed when you can play on a hard difficulty.

as for Chad......... Don't be a hater, not everyone can be or do what you do. theres another way to approach in encouraging ppl to pick up a real instrument. And also if he's really passionate about ppl doing that, he'll help those who can't afford real instruments by getting some for them.

not that he'll every read this but thats just how i feel.

Nickelback can't seem to get their music in Rock Band or Guitar Hero,I'm guessing thats why they're not supporting these games.This is just my opinion though and 0 facts.

The point I did want to make about Rock Band and guitar Hero is these games have inspired my own daughter to become interested in playing real music.She(my daughter) is now learning to play the real guitar, she also has started playing the trumpet.

Before guitar hero or rock band my daughter had no musical interest at all.How can anyone knock a game that can inspire children to want to learn to play real instruments?

I dunno really.. if people like guitar hero good for them but you see some youtube clips of some players and their level of skill.. they realy had might as well learn to play the real guitar.. it would be far more satisfying for them.

I wonder how long this fad will last for though? There is only so many guitar hero games they can make before people start getting bored.

Just to remind you, this guy is probably a big part of the UK indie scene which is essentially hair cuts, car boot sale fashions and bad songs. NME (the magazine it's quote from) tends to monopolize off this genre of music although they think they appeal to all genres of rock, this isn't not the case. They give props to inide because it is in and put metal, punk and pretty much anything that isn't indie into the shadows. It's a very biased publication.

As to the kind of metal he's referring to. I'd say its heavy metal. Head banging stiuff, not that I have anything against it, this guy quoted in the article certainly does.
