Winning Eleven/Pro Evo has only been released in Japan last week. That's why there is a boost.

Expect January to be similar too. Ultimate Ninja Storm( Naruto) will be released on the 15th of January. D

Oh, btw, There will be a huge boost next week with the rekease of White Knight Chronicles.

Soooo... you couldnt skim through more than three articles for the past couple of months without tripping over an article on how 360 had taken the PS3 in Japan. Now you hear nothing about how PS3 has come back with a vengeance and produces sales that are triple that of the 360. What in hell?

Im excited for the Sony comeback that we're seeing there. WKC should be a big help as well.

Question: never been a huge soccer buff but i appreciate the sport, should i give the latest PES a try?

Somehow i think WKS wont be as big as we expect. Probably not more than 200k first week. Why? Well latest promotions they had was about online, and when it comes to Japanese and online, they go "Cool" and than run away.
Second problem is that this is new IP. And in Japan new IP has ALWAYS hard time to establish it self. Not like in west where if game is good we buy it. Rouque Galaxy (awesome game and way better than DQ8 forPS2) sold only 400k lifetime while DQ8 sold over 2 million. Darc Cloud games that are wvery similar to Zelda, sold also "low" numbers compared to how they didi in west.

If White Knight Chronicles sells 200K in the first week in Japan, I think that it would be pretty good.

The Last Remnant was a new IP and it sold 100K units the first week in Japan on the Xbox 360, so I have no doubt that White Knight on the PS3 is going to sell at least double than what The Last Remnant sold on the Xbox 360 during the first week because there is WAY more people with PS3's than 360's in Japan.

I know that a lot of Japanese PS3 owners have REALLY been patiently waiting for some major JRPG's because there's been a serious lack of them on the PS3, and I think a lot of people in Japan will PS3's are going to be all over White Knight.

bigger news is that japan is spending as a whole. all sales seem to be up and while the ps2 sits at 7k.. thats alot of ps2's for a last gen console.

correct me if i'm wrong but the PS3 is sitting at around 2.2 million in japan an the 360 is sitting at about 800k, so thats a difference of about 1.4 million systems in a country that big. you call that WAY ahead of the 360. dont you guys think the PS3 should be alot further ahead considering the PS3 got a price cut in japan BEFORE the system even launched. what amazes me is how theres now chance in hell the 360 can catch or equal a 1.4 million system lead in japan that the PS3 has but its highly possible for the PS3 to over take a 5 million system lead in the U.S that the 360 has,thats according to the sony faithfuls on N4G!!

thats still LESS than a 2 million system lead. but my point is that many of you say its IMPOSSIBLE for the 360 to close a less than 2 million system gap in japan but you expect the PS3 to close a MORE than 5 million system lead in the U.S NEXT YEAR!! the PS3 isnt setting no sales charts on fire ANYWHERE. any lead the PS3 have over the 360 WW is being negated by the sales in the U.S so their almost in a stalemate!!

the ps3 is sitting around 2.5 million in japan.

And the bottom line is the 360 seems to have squaresoft supporting them and they are HALF the price of the ps3 literally. So don't forget to take that kind of stuff into account when you say things like that

Considering how big japan is? You said considering how big the country is the pS3 should have sold more. well america has around 300,000,000 population, europe is around 700,000,000 and japan is around 127,000,000(not counting the rest of the world). As you can see it is big but not that big. Secondly 1.4mil is a big lead for its territory and finally considering the lack of support from square enix with JRPGs and the price point in contrast to their(SONY) competition I would say their lead is very significant.

How big do you think that Japan is? Heck, just a quick Google check tells me that Japan is sitting right around a population of 127,433,494 while the North America is sitting around 334,659,631. While MS has a strong hold on North America with it's "as low as 199" console, they really are missing out in Europe. It's pretty well known that Sony holds the majority of Europe and with them having a population that hits close to 731,000,000 you have to figure that the company that holds Europe pretty much holds to winning number come the end of the current generation console sales.

Now, tell me this, does any of this information make any of the games you currently play better or worse? Dose this information have any effect at all on the games you are currently playing? I can tell you that for me, it does not. I could care less and so shouldn't you. Numbers of consoles sold and the money these companies make is for the investors, not us. Just play the games and enjoy the time you spend with whatever console you choose.

10 - Where are the million articles of the ps3 outselling the 360 in japan now?
Since when the 360 was only beating the ps3 by like 1000 per week there were a million articles on it. Remember titles like "360 surges past PS3 in Japan" and stuff like that being posted at least 3 times a day. Even duplicates were approved over and over. Yet so far the ps3 has outsold the 360 for the past 3 weeks (including the Last Remnant release week) in Japan. Where are the ps3 million artilces?

That particular comment was for those of you that say this site is "Sony Biased"
