Rock Revolution Sells 3,000 Units -- Wii Sells Two
29
Slashgamer writes: "Can this be for real? According to the NPD, Konami's rhythm game Rock Revolution sold poorly. Again, if this is real - poorly would actually be good news for the gaming publisher.
The NPD Group reported - get this, Rock Revolution sold less 3,000 copies of the game for the month of October. Because of the numbers being so ridicules low, I have my doubts about the legitimacy."

thats not funny at all, thats MGS4 revenue money, all down the drain... All that money on that Rock Revolution game could been to remove that Konami ID BS from MGO. or make a Contra/Castlevania game. or bring Arcade Remakes to the PSN/XBLA like Ninja Turtles back in Time.

ok it's not funny, but i find it very laughable...
but seriously, this is very sad. Konami invented the music game genre. there's tons of GuitarFreaks and Drum(Freaks?) over in Japan. but they were too late to the American music game scene. Guitar Hero and Rock Band simply own the genre here.
i feel bad, as a potential huge money-maker for Konami was looked over. but at the same time, Rock Revolution is simply not as good as the other music games, and i know that without playing it. things like only cover songs, extremely poorly-designed drums and other gameplay mechanics like reaching the top of a combo meter are ridiculous.

Actually Konami pioneered the music video game market. They aren't really late, they just made a crappy product.

No they are late, this game isn't as popular as the other two.
The masses know sh/t about this product and rather just stay with a product they know.
Where are the adds for this game anyway?
It got nothing to do with them pioneering it.

Hopefully it's true because Rock Revo is the biggest POS I've seen this year. It makes Wii Music look like Rock Band 2 in fun category.

Wow...That's kinda sad and funny at the same time. I kinda wanted Konami to do good with this one because they were the main front runners to the music/rhythmic game genre. But unfortunately it turned out to be a turd (and was always one :().
P.S. Maybe I'll buy the Wii version just to be famous too, lol.

Wow, these sale numbers look more like Japanese game sales but not U.S. game sales.
Either way, I doubt many people with 360's or PS3's would be interested in the game because I sure wasn't. I would expect this game to sell more on the Wii, but only 2 copies sold on the Wii in a month?! That's just embarrassing.
Konami just needs to stick to Metal Gear Solid and other of their solid franchises.

What are they thinking bringing something like this to the compete with Rock Band and Guitar Hero. Not like they didn't have the formula right out in front of them and more time to create it. I doubt those numbers are accurate though, but in any case I'm sure they are low.

Rock Revolution on the Wii comes out in November. No wonder it only sold 2 copies. Hurray for misleading news stories!
All in all, I hope the Wii version only sells two copies anyways. But we all know that's impossible.

I knew this was going to be a failure. I'm not surprised. Seriously Konami, how are you gonna try to jump in the 4-palyer band genre so late in the game? That's like SEGA making a Blue plumber named......Nario, and expecting the game to sell.
