Yeah so that is at latest March 2010, how could someone expect this game to not release by then?

It will be mighty interesting to see the sales for this game when it releases, 70M DS out there so it could sell more then GTA IV but when you put market saturation into the mix it becomes unlikely.

2 - I don't know about GTA anymore
It's certainly a last gen type experience for me now. Perhaps a rental if it looks good but I'm more interested in R*'s new current gen IPs. :/

5 - DS > PSP for GTA = Fail
The PSP is already proven to be the most powerful handheld ever, by a landslide, with games like God Of War: Chains Of Olympus and Resistance: Retribution delivering PS2-quality visuals. Why then would they build a series that reached critical and commercial success with it's 3D iterations on a system that can barely hold up an N64-quality 3D engine?

Sure, the install base is bigger, not only the visuals, but the gameplay, are going to be severely hampered if even a minor piece is not done right. A better game would be produced with the PSP, and that would lead to more sales in the long-run.

Raw power does not equal better :) and seeing that Rockstar made 2 PSP GTA's and they still want to make a DS version shows you they know that power doesn't equal better either.

But a 3D sandbox Action game on DS? You must have your doubts too.

Yea we can only wait and see. I don't think they gave out detail for it. They could be going back to their roots and making it top down but still keeping it new with the open world and such. Plus it's got the both screens to use for more viewing area... who knows what tricks they pull off.

6 - ^^^that's what is really important
is it the old school top down view?

is it the way GTA is supposed to be now, in 3D?

is it a sh!tty 3D view with flat buildings?

who knows? either way i agree the PSP versions will be superior because of hardware alone. the psp is like a mini PS2, the DS i like a mini N64.

Well all we know right now is that the PSP version will have the better graphics. What we don't know right now is if the DS has more substance in it ^^
