that's good, I mean great, but I've still got this little feeling of dissapointment, I really wanted retro to make an IP, they really are an amazing studio, combining core Japanese gameplay with a western twist.

I still have my copy of Super Metroid and a SNES in my TV stand because I love it so much... until it went FPS. WTF! Just had to vent.

Its an amazing game, if you havnt finished prime one i suggest you do.

6.2 - I think alot of people agreed at first...
Originally, I didn't even want to think of Metroid as anything but pure sidescrolling adventure, until I played Prime. The transition was done impeccably, and the experience was only improved in Corruption.

They needed to go to 3D, it was the logical step for the franchise, the choice in the matter was FPS or 3rd person. I think the Prime series would be an absolute masterpiece either way.

This is not Gears or Call of Duty, its that same Metroid experience, but with an arm cannon on screen.

didnt they already said sometime ago that the new game they were making wasnt a metroid game???

maybe they are making a new wii IP, and making the new metroid for DS(hopefully 2D, FPS on the DS are really tiring to play, lol)

The Metroid website has been down for months (not weeks like the idiot says). I've notified the webmaster and Nintendo about the website problem but they havne't done anything about it. This forum posting is stupid and totally irrelevant.

There will be no new Metroid for Wii at this time. I don't know how many times Retro studios has confirmed that.

I agree people who think there will be a new metroid are on crap.Metroid 3 is still selling for being a year old and Nintendo has other IP's to worry about and IMO Metroid is one of the games on the wii that actually take the hardware to the limit.

Can't wait to see what Retro has next, though. Hopefully at E3? They did AMAZING work with the Prime series. MP1 has to be one of my favorite games.
