Confirmed: Chrono Trigger coming to the DS

It began as a rumor and was confirmed along the way: The dream of many Square Enix fans has finally come true. The company has just announced that a Chrono Trigger remake will be coming to the Nintendo DS.

The remake is to be released sometime during Winter, 2008.

Can't wait to pick this up, even though I would rather have a completely new game in the series. I was under the impression that nothing would ever be done with the series again after such a long hiatus.

4 - One of my TOP 3 JRPGS of All Time(Takes out the NDS and Awaits)
This game in 1995 did it for me. The Story, Music, the graphics at the time, I always liked JRPGS, but this one made me fall in love...haha

Chrono Trigger is what got me into Video Game music and OCRemixes.

well it's a short Story. I met this Asian girl on Aol and she had a webpage and she had "Time Circuits Track" playing on there(in the background) as an MiDi and, we became good friends and the rest was history with me and JRPG OST's.

(1995 was a great gaming year with Knuckles' Chaotix , Chrono Trigger, Earthworm Jim,Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island, Command and Conquer, Earthbound, Donkey Kong Country 2: Diddy's Kong Quest, Wing Commander IV: The Price of Freedom) I'm so old-school

-Time Circuits.(This got me into VG Music, I never forget it, Classic)
-Memories of Green.
-Secret of the Forest.
-Guardia Castle.
-Manoria Cathedral.
-Silent Light.
-Kaeru's Theme.
-The Day the World Revived.(So sad)

-The Brink of Time

The Original "Secret Of The Forest" - Reminds me of being lost, and in despair in the environment. When you hear the piano, it's almost like your taking a break pondering, then you continue but you'll get through the forest. Listen closely, you'll hear an OWL.

Yasunori Mitsuda is great, but "Uematsu" is JRPG music god..lol

2. It would be gorgeouses if it was for PS3

Squaresoft is not the same Company, sinc the the Fusion with enix.
DS is the wrong choice.

Can't say that i'm happy . I cant say that i wished for a remake to begin with ... i'd rather say where the hell is chrono break , or any other project of a Chrono sequel or prequel ?

Can't say that i'm happy neither with the choice of platform ... i got a ds and i like it , but CT is a game that deserved more , more than a cheap ds remake with 3 possible outcomes :

- its the same snes game slightly enhanced . At least the game wouldnt be messed up

-It uses the ff4 engine , in wich case imo it isnt nearly good and detailed enough , and would only work with game like ff1-4 on nes ....

- It uses the dq9 engine , i wich case at least the title's 2d design might get preserved when translated in 3d ... but i'd still feel cheated out of a good remake on PS3... 360 ...wii or heck even PS2 ..

Get a grip already dude ... why 99% of happy posts what do you fricking care if i'm not ? I bought the game twice already , and once again Square is milking a remake we dont even know anything about yet ...

There was a copyright by square of Chrono Break , but so far Square does nothing with it . People from square wanted to do it , and still do . Yet square sat tight while the rights expired . Even Mitsuda , one of the 3 gods of jrpg music , was enthusiast about it , but nothing was done . Now all remains is the japanese trademark

Ex-square staff , like monolith also wanted to do the game , but square wouldnt let it happens .

At some point a group of fans started a full scale 3d pc remake , lacking a bit of polish but promising . Instead of embracing it , or even taking it over with their skills and porting it to ps2 or next gen consoles... they just killed it . And now some ds port or remake appears ?

why people said its not the best choice by square remaking CT for DS..its the perfect choice..DS is leading the handheld market n sell more units than psp,wii,ps3 n 360 worldwide..so they remake it for the system they know they will make money on it..man..also a ps3 version will take longer to develop..on DS its quick n easy n out next yr..so more time spend on otha projects..aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa a..

it's only a perfect choice in the monetary sense , not necessarily in terms of quality of the remake . No offense it will be a good one obviously , but i cant be killed yet for wishing something more "deluxe" on wii ps3 and/360 ...
