the video shows such different angles and view points its hard to tell the difference. 09 definitely looks a little better but i wouldnt go so far to say leaps and bounds better like EA was claiming earlier this year.

2.1 - Are you saying that your a 2K football fan?
Or...that you never bought a football game period? I've never purchased a Madden game either and this video might have convinced me. Just imagine...my last football game purchase was on the Dreamcast...what sorts of innovations can I look forward to? Too many to list probably.

They changed the lighting, grass textures, and made the player models' arms more detailed...it looks pretty good, as far as the video comparison, YouTube is useless.

5 - I don't care how it looks
Madden just sucks! It has ruined my football experience because I refuse to play this trash called a videogame.

Bring back a Real football game. Bring back 2K!!!

I loved @k but the fanchise had serious bugs...

Qb spy, Running animation, Sometimes i played the Eagles but the players on the sidelines had a different uniform. Game freezing, the draft being ruined by the CPU only drafting QB, RB and Cbs.( i can find the best DT in the league in the 3rd round. Both games have flaws but atleast in madden teh franchise is playable.

Impressive...

I'd prefer to view it in higher quality, but from what I have seen there are definitely some nice touches. I look foward to owning the game.

9 - If you want to see an example of a modern version of monopoly meet NFL network and EA
This is why you don't make exclusive deals with software vendors. Hardware I can understand because Hardware is an expensive chunk of metal and plastic without software and has to be planned before the software comes out. Most software vendors don't write for phantom systems but hardware guys will plan a next console with little knowledge as to how software vendors will support or not support any new technology crammed down their throats. There is enough evidence to suggest that the hardware is going to be a viable consumer product before Software developers will gamble on writting for a new hardware architecure.

In other words, Hardware doesn't sell the software but software will definitely sell the hardware so exclusiveness is o.k. to a point. (Just don't build a hardware platform on exclusiveness alone). However, the concept doesn't work well with software. I still love my old school 2K games and actually converted a few Madden fans myself.

NFL really needs to dump the EA deal and Open the market. By doing so you will suddenly see the quality of EA Madden football go up. Best years of Madden was when there were other competitors in the field.

Here is the concept in another way:

The game software industry is like a NFL or College football season with lots of teams battling out for top spots in the season.

However in the field of Sports EA and NFL have taking the approach that fans will show up to a game where the team is playing against nobody on the field and no matter how poorly the team plays even with no one on the field they still get a high score because there is nobody on the field to play against. In the football world this would be one boring game and we sport fans would lose interest real quick.

This is what is and will continue to happen if the NFL doesn't change its tune on how it deals with software vendors and stop giving EA a free ride.

I myself lost interest in the football software category a long time ago and actually not a big fan of any sports title because their isn't enough vendors out there competing with each other to push the limits of the machines we bought.

If racing sims/arcade is considered a sport title then I'm still in but rest is just plain boring.

Bring back the competition bring back the good ole days
