there's only one game of the sales charts and its not even a full game. sad puppets you haters are. most companies get their revenue from software sells and it looks like sony is in sambles in that regard.

as you can see the 360 have benefitted the most from the pre-gtaIV release. an 18% jump compaired to a 10% jump for the ps3. but go head fonyfans spin like you always do.

Yes, Prologue sold well in the U.S.

But wow, do americans love their shooters!
3 games in the top 10 for the 360, all shooters
2 of those games came out 5 months ago and still in top 10, and Army of two still not doing too bad after two months!

There was a rumor about Microsoft working on a "wiimote" for the 360... They should just make a handgun!!!

to the Prologue numbers whenever I get back to civilization. Looks like people are saying the PS3 is here to stay come hell or high water on a weekly basis (and the PS3 still has some huge titles to release). I just want to see the NPD numbers.

How 'fast' will the PS3 catch up with that few thousands of consoles it sells extra over the 360 now? It has to catch up with 8 million 360's further in sales.

It has to sell 300k a month more and the 360 needs to stop selling totally to be able to catch up in two years time. But the PS3 ain't selling 300k a month more then the 360 and the 360 doesn't stop selling totally tomorrow.

Thus we can say: PS3 might get on par at the end of its life cycle maybe, but that's about it.

Well at least the PS3 is now up to a point of people asking "when" it will catch up as opposed to when everyone was asking "if" it will. It's really just a matter of time now, but I do admit it's gonna take awhile for it to happen here in the US. It's gonna depend on whether the PS3's fall lineup manages to really hit the sweet spot for US gamers.

Wasn't there an article recently stating that the PS3 reached 12 million units 5 months faster than the 360?

That's pretty good going I reckon.

The 360 may still be ahead in sales by the time Microsoft pull the plug on it and launch it's Next Box. But just as we've seen with the PS2, the PS3 will have much better longevity, so in the long run the PS3 will outsell the 360 purely on the fact it's going to have a longer shelf life.

Now there's only a 6 million lead, with 2008 just starting, with non of the exclusives out yet, PS3 constantly outselling the 360 every week even in the US..... On top of that, the PS3 is at the beginning of its second year without its franchises out.

I think you know that time is running short until you can't use the same BS excuse over and over again.

PS3 will lead the 360 in consoles sales sooner or later.

If you had to bet, I know you would bet for sooner...

Well, it looks as though the PS3 is on it's way to outselling the Xbox 360 in the U.S. in April.

With Metal Gear Solid 4 coming out in June, PS3 sales should be picking up. I wonder how many Xbox 360's have sold in Japan this week...

Also there was that statement by both Gamestop and Sony about GTA4 and how much it "spiked" PS3 hardware sales.

The Playstation 3's major "system-seller" games haven't even come out yet and the PS3 has plenty of time to outsell the Xbox 360 ( I think that it will). The PS2 user base is just too large for Microsoft to compete with. When a PS3 price drop comes later this year, you'll begin to see even more current PS2 owners upgrade to the PS3.

We all heard about how GTA4 affected the PS3's sales, so just imagine how those sales will increase once the PS3's system seller games are released. The Xbox 360's monthly sales will definantly level off until Gears of War 2 this fall, but I don't really expect much from the 360 until then.

In America at least PS3 has a lot of catching up to do and at the rate it's doing so it's not going to happen fast.PS3 can drop in price but so too can 360 so any danger there for ms can be countered.

With most software developed in America and a higher install base, i'd wager PS3 not catching up in fairness.Who would have thought this though.

Wii is another thing all together though ms would i'm sure like a piece of that action

it was ok when xbots backed vgchartz last year (even though they knew vgchartz was faulty). Now all of a sudden those SAME people are saying vgchartz is whack.

Vgchartz is still nothing to go buy. But it doesn't make a difference since most other charts show the 360 falling behind the ps3 anyways lol like gfk and mediacreate for example. And the 360 inched out a measly 5000 more in the U.S. according to the march npd.

Yeah, I guess these are tough times for xbots. But I can't wait until metal gear comes out. Because even with vgchartz poor numbers, it will be easy to see the ps3 wiping the floor with the 360 no matter how biased a person might be.

Worldwide it STILL is nowhere near to catching the 360.

To catch the 7 million lead at current 35000 extra sales per week will take ... 200 weeks.

200 weeks is 3.8 years
May 2008 + 3.8 years is FEBRUARY 2012!

Once again, I have proven that it will take until 2012 for the ps3 to catch the 360.

PS3 = 3rd.
