Zoo Tycoon 2 Coming to DS

Following the massive success of Zoo Tycoon on the Nintendo DS, especially in the UK where it still charts at the moment, THQ has kicked into gear and announced a sequel. The game is based on the one published by Microsoft Game Studios and is scheduled for an early 2008 release. Rather than being from Blue Fang this time (which many may see as a positive considering the first DS game was an abomination), Altron is behind this new version. The game includes improved gameplay and new features for fans of the life simulation genre, as well as animal-lovers who have long dreamed of running their own zoo. For reference, the NPD Group also states that the original game has now sold more than half a million units in the US alone!
