WhatTheyPlay Review: Tony Hawk's Motion

WhatTheyPlay writes:

Tony Hawk's Motion is a skateboarding/snowboarding game for the Nintendo DS that utilizes an included "Motion Pack" for motion-controlled gameplay. The pack plugs into the Game Boy Advance cartridge port on the Nintendo DS hardware and allows you to simply move the system to trigger actions in the game, such as navigating to the left or right, balancing during grind and manual tricks, and spinning in the air. To perform tricks using the default control scheme, you press one of the buttons on the face of the Nintendo DS or hit any direction on the directional pad. Some additional tricks are performed by touching the bottom screen of the Nintendo DS.

In Tony Hawk's Motion, you play as either a skateboarder or snowboarder through four distinct locales, completing objectives like earning a certain amount of points for tricks, reaching the end of the course in record time, or delivering video tapes to different parts of town. Your character can be customized with new clothing and gear along the way, as well. A second game, titled Hue Pixel Painter, is also included on the game cart, and finds you controlling a small creature named Hue as he battles the evil Drabs in black-and-white worlds. Via movement of the Nintendo DS, Hue can restore color to the worlds by connecting colorful puddles to each other.
