IGN: Bridging the Gap: Connecting Guitar Hero

In the matter of just two years, Guitar Hero has gone from an "other console" game franchise to totally dominating both Nintendo Wii and DS sales. Guitar Hero III sold the most on Nintendo's console, and the continued effort from Vicarious Visions has brought serious power to Wii's otherwise limited third-party support. In the upcoming Guitar Hero: World Tour, the team is again going all-out, delivering exclusive modes such as Mii Freestyle mode, and full support of downloadable content, the music creator, song sharing, and online play. It is going to be hands-down one of Wii's biggest games of this holiday season.

On the DS front, On Tour is right behind its console buddies, as Activision has gone full-force in delivering the same awesome Guitar Hero experience in portables as it has on consoles. The innovative guitar grip made on-the-go rocking possible - though Vicarious is going to have to think fast if they want a new On Tour that's compatable with the DSi, coming in mid-2009 - and the combined power of the DS's Arm7 and Arm9 processors made this book form DS game a sight to see, as well as a worthy rock contender.
