Nintendo Fan Alliance's Assassin's Creed: Altair's Chronicles Review

The game Assassin's Creed: Altair's Chronicles for the Nintendo DS is the prequel to the game Assassin's Creed found on both the Xbox and Playstation consoles. Assassin's Creed: Altair's Chronicles takes the gamer back to 1191 AD in which Altair is called upon to stop the hostilities of the Third Crusades by suppressing both sides of the conflict. Gamers will travel through four cities of the Middle East in search of "the chalice" which is an object said to be so powerful that whoever is in possession of it can end the Crusades.

The gameplay for Assassin's Creed is very simple and also very linear. Fans of the Prince of Persia series should feel right at home with how Assassin's Creed plays. The Y button is your low attack, X is your high attack, B is jump, and the A button serves as an action button for either kicks or when you sneak up behind someone you can kill them quickly with a stab to the neck. You can also pick up and drag objects with the A button along with shooting out your grappling hook to swing across objects. The shoulder buttons are also used to crouch and walk which comes in handy if you don't want to fall off of beams when you are walking across them.
