GameTap writes: "Does opening the DS feel like opening a coffin to you? Dracula (with Konami's blessing) seems to think so. The father of all bloodsucking nightstalkers has sprung back to life for another round of handheld Castlevania, but this time it appears he's caught his traditional nemeses, the Belmonts, on a family vacation.
Castlevania: Order of Ecclesia is the third DS installment, following Castlevania: Dawn of Sorrow (2005) and Castlevania: Portrait of Ruin (2006); what better platform is there for a series that continues to doggedly clamp its fangs onto its 2D graphic style? If you're keeping track, Order of Ecclesia actually takes place after the events of Castlevania: Symphony of the Night (PlayStation and Xbox 360). Since Richter Belmont (the final Belmont) has disappeared, Dracula's running amuck, even taking his neck-puncturing appetites outside the usual confines of his evil castle. With the Belmont clan missing in action, a coalition of groups has formed to battle the vampire king. The most successful of these is called the Ecclesia, and its greatest champion, Shanoa, is a woman with a wicked mean desire to see Dracula turned into dust. Shanoa's motivation is a mystery for now, but it's no secret that she's the first female protagonist for the Castlevania series."
