Pokemon Diamond and Pearl went on sale in Japan earlier today, and the results were stunning. Despite having shipped 1 million copies of each version, all 2 million games were sold out within hours of hitting the shelves. Demand for the game also sparked a jump in DS Lite sales, with over 500,000 units sold in the same time period.
With the Pokémon 25th Anniversary rumour mill in full spin, fans firmly believe Pokémon Diamond and Pearl remakes are a guarantee. It makes sense really, with Sinnoh next in line for a regional reboot, and it’s been six years since the last remakes, the Hoenn-based Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire.
Alex S. from Link Cable Gaming writes: " Pokémon’s release kicked off a worldwide phenomenon that is still going strong to this day. In fact, some will say it’s never been a better time to try to ‘catch ’em all’. But is it? That’s the question we’re aiming to answer in this inaugural article of Pokémon week here at Link Cable Gaming – which generation of Pocket Monsters is truly the master of them all?"
2021 marks the 25th anniversary of everyone's favorite monster-catching franchise: Pokemon. Celebrate the big milestone with TechRaptor as we take a trip down memory lane through each generation.
