Phantasy Star Online 2 May Be SEGA's Savior (2D-X)

SEGA is in a world of financial hurt at moment and it needs something, anything, to alleviate the situation. Phantasy Star Online 2 might be the remedy SEGA needs. It's that good.

It won't be its savior if it will be restricted to Japan and released too late (2013 is too late yes). Being F2P (or to be more precise Freemium) is a good move, but we need a SOONER + WOLRDWIDE release. I really want this on my Vita.

Well Sega's been on the right track so far. VF5:FS coming to console this summer, hopefully PSO2 comes to the west as well. All they need now is polished Sonic game with more than 1 year of development time. Cue Sonic Adventure 3...

Its too little, too late Sega, you, like all these other Publishers, Had an ENTIRE GEN to put out AAA games, instead you published "crapola" games, 1 after another this entire time, this game SHOULD HAVE come out at the beginning of this Gen, now you want ME the gamer to save your "ship wreched" hide cause your in the red again, and sinking fast, NOPE, how bout you REFUND me the Gamer for all the crappy mediocre half heart, half baked games you made this Gen, & then maybe I`ll consider saving your Hide by buying this game, outside of this: HOLD YOUR WALLET.

GamesIndustry.biz writes: "Relic is best known for the Company of Heroes and Dawn of War games, and recently developed the new Age of Empires for Microsoft. Relic will transition to an independent studio and will no-longer be part of the Sega group of studios.

The majority of the 240 job cuts are across Creative Assembly and Sega Europe, while there will be a ‘small number’ cut from Sega HARDLight. There was no mention of other Sega UK studios, including Two Point Studios and Sports Interactive."

Shame about Creative Assembly, they should have just been allowed to do an Alien Isolation sequel.

just_looken34d ago

It was that garbage coh 3 that did them in only a special team can make a sequel worse in every way even though it was a 10 year gap and the same era.

gold_drake35d ago

I hope they find new jobs in the industry soon.

Two Point Studios and Sports Interactive probably run on a shoe string budget so that fits into SEGA better lol
