The more I see the more I like of this game...now if I could only sit down to make time to play the demo.

MrWonderful4377d ago

It's short, but it made me want the game even more then before

Fylus4377d ago

Do it, the demo is awesome. Just really short:/ The combat system is very well implemented and the ability to cling to large enemies is just flat out awesome. PLAY IT, DAMMIT.

problemchild844376d ago

Did you notice how big that dragon is in the demo? He's huge compared to the dragons in Skyrim, and I'm assuming you'll be able to climb them as well!

Fylus4376d ago (Edited 4376d ago )

Definitely. I actually watched a video of someone fighting a relatively small dragon and the battle lasted so long and it was just epic.

So I have a feeling that this definitely won't be like fighting dragons im Skyrim where all you do is wait for them to land then hit them 4 times. No. these dragon fights will be a true battle. I can't wait!

MysticStrummer4377d ago

I've been aware of this game since last E3, but it wasn't on my radar at all until I stumbled across some open world footage like this. The demo is short but it sealed the deal. I went and paid in full the day after the demo released. Can't wait.

Raider694377d ago (Edited 4377d ago )

So the final version comes with the black bars on top and bottom of the screen too? If so thats bad!Where the hell is the full screen edition Capcom? Its a pay DLC?The screen is full of settings hub,paws,speech....and the game is not even in full screen!!WTF!

Neckbear4377d ago (Edited 4377d ago )

Two things: One, letterboxing is usually done in many games to save processing power (and developers zoom the screen in to conceal it, something that apparently Capcom forgot to do, despite the UI placement being done with that in mind, apparently), not to mention you can actually turn off the HUD, the speech, and almost every single thing onscreen. Keep in mind reviewers don't get the retail version of the game, either, instead they just have a less-polished build from months ago. Perhaps a setting will be available in the full game, or perhaps not, who knows.

Second, the DLC jokes tied to Capcom are as overused as memes, so to say, they stopped being funny eons ago; they neither make you clever nor a comedian. Just a heads up.

@deadfrag

Oh god, a website that probably got a review copy says it's the full version. Obviously they're right!!!111one

@firefly69

Try every release with a shoddy resolution, such as, I don't know, Crysis 2 for example, which runs at 1024x720 on the PS3, but the output is zoomed in (or stretched) to prevent letterboxes from appearing on the TV. For reference, the game should run at 1280x720, which translates in the standard 16:9 aspect ratio for televisions.

deadfrag4377d ago

Read the article dumb ass!Its images of the full version of the game, that means thats the final code for review equal to the retail.

firefly694377d ago (Edited 4377d ago )

You have to tell me what other release games hyped with top tier quality on the 360 or the PS3 come in letterbox because i cant seem to remember one!And if the game really come with those bars, thats obvious a bad choise made,it looks ugly!

MysticStrummer4377d ago

Neckbear is right kids, but feel free to whine on. It's a hard habit to break, I'm sure.

Redtide4377d ago

the map is pretty big i like that

Dragon's Dogma Is Still Amazing

Although the sequel is on the near horizon, the original Dragon's Dogma Dark Arisen remains a fantastic action RPG, still worth playing.

A lot of the quest lines in Skyrim are good(not all and they don’t add up as a whole if you do thieves guild mage fighters guild etc) The dragons are very lame after the first few times and the combat is clunky as it always has been. The stupid sprint button is ridiculous.

Overall I agree DD is the better rpg game.

Both have theirs strengths and weaknesses but Skyrim should be so much more being the 5th game in Elder Scrolls series.

Excited to see what they add on to DD 2.

Unfortunately all they have done to Elder Scrolls since Morrowind is take things out (minus the sprint button which is so lame because you can kill dragon god like creatures but can’t run for more than ten seconds without getting tired)

anast54d ago (Edited 54d ago )

I liked the vampire questline and the return to Morrowind was okay, but the problem with Skyrim was the lack of consequence. There is almost no point in the quests. After I realized this, I started messing around with the mods and then quit playing. Though, I did spend 300 hrs. on modded content, but this is telling of how bad the game kind of is.

If DD was the size or close to the size of Skyrim, It would have been the primer fantasy game back then. I hope they up the size with DD2.

5 Games To Play While Waiting For Dragon's Dogma II

Daman Shelley from NoobFeed writes - Dragon's Dogma is truly a one-of-a-kind game, and there really is no other game like it, but there are a few that come close. Whether with their fantasy settings, the ability to climb mountains, or just with the overall same charm as Capcom’s iconic RPG. Here's a list of games that will hopefully scratch that Dragon's Dogma itch.

every gamer should play this game

gold_drake104d ago

cant wait for it, feb and march are busy busy months ha.

SovereignSnaKe104d ago

I can still hear the title screen music in my head after nearly 12 years. Loved every minute of it.

MrNinosan104d ago

I have no issues filling my time til DD2.
Granblue Fantasy: Relink, Infinite Wealth and Final Fantasy VII Rebirth will probably me more than enough.
More terrified I won't be done in time.

DivineHand125104d ago

Try not to burn yourself out before the game releases. This is going to be a long and immersive RPG like the first one.

The games in this article are all great and I believe the people who are excited for Dragons Dogma 2 probably already played most of those games.

For now, I recommend you prepare yourself for long play sessions if you will be picking up Dragons Dogma at launch.
