GodisaGeek: "Destruction in racing games has been a rich theme for a while now too, with game such as Burnout Crash! and the Need for Speed series, with the ultra-detailed damage engines and spectacular crash replays almost glorifying your pile-ups. In fact, Codemasters will be releasing their latest entry in the Colin McRae series this month, entitled Dirt: Showdown, the game focuses less on rally driving, and instead on destructive driving. The idea of actually scoring points by brutalising your competition and creating the biggest crashes possible was popularised by one game; Destruction Derby."
Danielle Winter of GameGrin writes: "1995 was a phenomenal year for technological advancements in entertainment! Pixar’s landmark computer-generated animated film Toy Story broke box office records and children's hearts around the world, Microsoft’s Windows 95 operating system took consumer & office computing to the next level, and society was forever changed when the gods graced us with Ace Ventura: When Nature Calls; not only the best sequel of all time, but the greatest title to a sequel - ad infinitum."
Here's hoping Destruction All-Stars can capture some of that magic. https://www.youtube.com/wat...
p.s. anyone remember a game called vigiante8 on the PSOne. Soo much good times.
To be fair...Wreckfest was a blast to play. Little ragged but a great laugh.
I hope there's a bigger better sequel in the works for next gen...
It’s that time again to break out your nostalgia and take a trip down memory lane as we take a look at three games we would love to see make a return to a console near you. Here’s hopin…
I loved Knight's of the Old Republic and Syphon Filter! With news of Sony filing the trademark for Syphon Filter recently it could mean a new game or remaster is coming. I would love to see Nightmare Creatures, The Suffering, Dino Crisis, Onimisua, Manhunt, Ghost N Goblins, Spyro the Dragon, Vagrant Story or Parasite Eve get new games!

Move over Call of Duty, we want to play online Destruction Derby!
Unfortunately I've heard quite a few negative things about Dirt: Showdown - hopefully it'll still be able to fill the Destruction Derby shaped void in my heart.
