With the official reveal of PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale, many of the early criticisms centered around a lack of originality. After all, any gamer worth his salt is well aware of the three Super Smash Brothers games and how they play, and it’s not hard to see the similarities. It also didn’t help that one of the official pictures on developer SuperBot Entertainment’s web site clearly shows a Wii sitting next to a TV. The terms “copy,” “unoriginal” and even “copyright infrigement lawsuit” have all been directed at this game, yet none of them are truly deserved.

While Playstation All-Stars Battle Royale didn't get the best review, there are still some aspects of the game that deserve some credit.
Gamers now a days don't know what they want.
They call for games to be original yet gladly pay more for unoriginal games and do not support the games that need supporting.
Originality keeps the industry from going stale. I don't mind people copying a game, just don't copy the same thing everybody else is. *looks at the current FPC craze*
Copy Stealth games like Tenchu, the original Hitman, or somethin. We don't have enough of those around. Give us more sword games that aren't God of War clones.
The Beat 'em Up is overdue for a new hit as well.
Exactly, I don't mind copying, as long as it improves on the original.
I really don't see what the big deal is. This is just coming off one of the most original game I have seen in a long time, Journey. So Sony MUST always make original titles or pay the penalty of the constant whining of fanboys? SSB isn't even an original concept. Any one who knows gaming history knows that.
all-stars is the game we all wanted. or at least everyone who didnt dismiss the concept from the outset (cough cough, nintendo fanboys)
