Leaked Black Ops 2 In-Game Screenshots of the Quadrotor, New Intel Drop Unlocks, and More

MP1st - "First Black Ops 2 in-game screenshots of the Quadrotor have been leaked through the special effects firm that worked on the FPSRussia viral video. Also, the latest intel drop has been added to the official Call of Duty website, and we got our hands on a better image of the real life Quadrotor with a Tacitus watermark."

This looks either futuristic or...... modern. NOOOOOOOO ITS IMPOSSIBRU!!! :( I hope I'm wrong.

BISHOP-BRASIL4387d ago

I would say modern, just not real... Quadrotors (and other multirotors) are pretty common design between aeromodelists and full size quadrotoros had been built and flew since the '20s.

Today it's mostly regarded as "backyard project" as the desing offers little to no advantages over common helicopters or tiltrotor designs and it's costs a lot more to build and maintain, hence the low popularity between the major aircraft builders and why we don't see the big military designed quad choppers around beyond science fiction.

It looks cool none the less, but I'm not sure if the one in the screenshot is meant to be a full sized transport quadrotor or some kind of UAV (aeromodel).

geth1gh4386d ago (Edited 4386d ago )

They are starting to use this as uavs for squads and such I am pretty sure.

So think about this size.

Not sure why the first thing that came to mind is a full sized aircraft when everything in the screens and mock ups show it the actual uav size. The picture linked to the n4g article probably shows it the best, with the guy in the background holding a r/c.

As for the game, it can burn in hell for eternity for all I care.

fragnificent4386d ago (Edited 4386d ago )

your comment has just given me an idea, wouldn't it be awesome if tryarch did something a bit different and went with a more homefront style game with all the CoD feature still there, just that resistace fighter theme or similar . It would be a welcome change from the usual modern then ww2 or cold war then modern again, that would actually be more interesting

HarryMasonHerpderp4386d ago

Looks like something out of Metal Gear.

NarooN4386d ago

Huh? What was that noise?

Just a quadrotor helicopter.

Lazy_Sunday4386d ago (Edited 4386d ago )

Please be futuristic. Please be futuristic. Please do something new CoD. For the love of gaming, PLEASE Activision, we beg of you!

Pumbli4386d ago

I agree, loved Black Ops so I have high hopes for the next Treyarch CoD.

shackdaddy4387d ago (Edited 4387d ago )

It looks like another MW game based on the pictures... :\

Edit: oh. Matty beat me to it. Ya, I hope Im wrong too. I hope those other models in there are just placeholders or something.

MattyG4387d ago (Edited 4387d ago )

Yeah, the only reason I loved Black Ops so much was because not many people do cold war. It was a nice change of pace. But if the setting is modern, it'll be MW with special ops soldiers. So basically exactly like MW 2&3 haha.

EDIT: I just re-read the article, and I think those are placeholder assets. It says they had to render it in the MW engine so that the special effects firm doing FPS Russias video had something to go off of. I have a feeling the choppers and stuff were just there, and not part of BO2

Criminal4387d ago (Edited 4387d ago )

It could be either Modern Warfare 3 or Black Ops 2. The project page on ReelEFX refered to the project as Call of Duty, not Black Ops 2 or Modern warfare 3. My money is on Black Ops 2 in its' early stages. Why would they render this on MW3's engine. Treyarch's been working on Black Ops 2 since Black Ops 1 came out. The must have a working engine for the game by now.

MattyG4387d ago

@Criminal I have no ideawhy theyd render this on the MW engine. I'm just going by what the article said. I just went back and looked though and they changed it. Before it said they rendered it on that engine for a fact. Now the article just says its POSSIBLE that's what it is. It does look exactly like MW3 though.

Soldierone4387d ago

I hope it isn't modern....Most importantly I want to know if it will be like cod, or suck like MW3.....

GraveLord4387d ago

Please...like you even play Call of Duty games. All you do is troll on them.

@shackdaddy
It's not a MW game. It's Black Ops 2. It can be set in a Modern or near-future setting without being "Modern Warfare"

Soldierone4387d ago

Yeah? Your one bubble says a lot lol

You can go look me up on Black Ops, it will tell you my latest time logged in was today.

shackdaddy4387d ago

Well I know it's "Black Ops 2". But I liked the cold war. I really dont want to go from mw3(modern), to another modern setting, then (possibly) mw4 the year after. Treyarch usually broke it up for me by using different time settings.

Ill wait for may 1st, but I really hope its not a modern(ish) setting...

TekoIie4386d ago

Lol Soldierone see's legitimacy in the Bubble system. How old are you? 7!?!?!

Xbox $70 billion bet paid out

fr0sty259d ago

Guess that's what happens when there's no good new games to play...

4Sh0w259d ago (Edited 259d ago )

Well regardless of exclusives, or whatever else there is to play on Xbox or ps, CoD has has still been the top selling game on ps platform since forever also.....so no surprise that the most popular game franchise on any console could easily have a revival due to servers coming back online...this is just credit to xbox backwards compatibility & thats good thing for Xbox gamers.

wiz7191259d ago

@Frosty orrrr maybe it’s a breath of fresh air to be able to go back to the peak of the series .. and it’s beem great lol

mkis007259d ago

It's going to take 10 years for xbox to generate that much profit...

Rhythmattic258d ago

Why worry when they have OS, Server and Background Data in their hands...
Gaming is just the small piece, at the top left in a few K piece jigsaw.

EasilyTheBest258d ago

If you buy a house with cash for 1 million dollars you still own the house. Microsoft don't need to make the money back.

Rhythmattic256d ago

But its not money back, its about how it goes missing.

jznrpg259d ago

Shooters is what Xbox people play most of the time and that’s about it by the numbers and sales of games.

shinoff2183259d ago

Atkeast older gamers nostalgia is good. Jeez.

Jin_Sakai259d ago

Mostly because the new CoD games are garbage. The old games were much better.

Rutaprkl258d ago

Agree 100%. Cod 4, WaW, Black ops 1 & 2, those were the days.

Rhythmattic258d ago

For MP, Unreal tournament , QIII Arena (loved the UT mod) FTW!

RaidenBlack258d ago

Unreal Tournament and Quake III were simply amazing ... CoD's and CoD-likes' rise killed the arena shooter popularity ...
Unreal Tournament 2004 is my favorite in the series.
Didn't enjoy Unreal Tournament III, Quake Champions that much.
Too bad Epic cancelled Unreal Tournament 2014 becoz of Fortnite

Rhythmattic258d ago (Edited 258d ago )

I got hooked on the QIII Urban Terror mod (and my work colleagues I introduced them to)... LAN Sessions at the closing of the doors at work, into the night , sinking beers and eating pizza..... Good times.

thesoftware730259d ago

Wow, good games never get old I guess.

CoD will always be a beast of a franchise, and how awesome is it that you can just boot it up or pop it into your Xbox and play, MS BC is really a neat feature.

CrimsonWing69259d ago

Shows you that backwards compatibility is a worthwhile feature.

1Victor258d ago

@crimson:” Shows you that backwards compatibility is a worthwhile feature.”
I agree it’s worthy at the start of the generation when there’s few new generation games but halfway through the generation it’s not a feature.
Now it’s good that this game is finding a renewed life for its fan but it shows a mayor flaw in new games release when a close decade old game is toppling the charts

CrimsonWing69258d ago

I don't know if I understand what you mean. It's a feature regardless of the time into the generation.

Let's take Armored Core 6 for example. Let's say I'm interested in checking out the previous Armored Core games, sure would be nice if I could play them on my current-gen console.

We're about 3 years into current-gen and old games are hitting in the top 5 for sales charts in the month.

I do get where you're coming from with older games possibly being better than the newer games, but the feature stays the feature. I can only speak for myself, but when there's a lull in game releases or nothing great is out, I like to go back to old titles. It's just nice to not have to have a bunch of consoles out to do so.

I think moving forward it'll be less and less of an issue as like with the PS5 you can access most all of the PS4 games, but I like going back to PS1 and PS2. Would be awesome to kind of make backwards compatibility a prioritized feature moving forward. Hell, Sony was the first to implement it.
