GameFan Magazine: "I grew up in an era where there were two ways to get games. You either bought them or you rented them. Okay, three ways… you also borrowed them from your friends. Back then I didn’t have a lot of games, and as I got older and amassed wealth and fame, my game collection grew exponentially. Like most gamers, there were games that I cherished; there were games that my friends cherished that I bought simply to awe them; and there were games that looked good in the magazines but actually sucked,that I got suckered into owning. Those games never really found a permanent home in my collection because if I really didn’t like something I could trade it in to a game store toward something else; or I could try to sucker one of my friends into buying it from me. But just like my fame and fortune, those days of milk and honey are gone my friends."

Diehard GameFAN: Bloody Vampire Review

DHGF: There are a lot of games out there that try and provide the experience of games that we enjoyed playing in the past, games that are meant to either trigger nostalgic feelings in those of us that are old enough, and made with a simple and clear design to be enjoyable for those of us who didn’t have the joy of growing up on 8 and 16 bit consoles. When done well it can provide for a great video game experience that also fondly recalls some of the classic 2D games. When done poorly it can be a kick in the rose colored glasses and a reminder that the amount of bad 2D games in the past far exceeded the number of good ones.
