Cliff Bleszinski: "You're not going to see a Gears 4 where Marcus is back, the Locust are back and the Queen is back. Because if I were to come out at a press event and do that, everybody's eyes would roll into the back of their heads. You could probably hear the sound of their eyes creaking as they rolled back."
OXM mulls over the prospect of a fourth Gears game.
For those who don't have time for massive open worlds or role-playing games with epic tales, these 15 games are worth checking out.
Gears of War 3 and Judgement servers have returned to their "updated" condition, adding several features, such as increased XP and more.
I currently play Gears 3 often, especially after the 60 FPS Boost. Gears of War is my favorite gaming franchise, and the Locusts are the coolest faction in history. Gears Judgment will always be a disgrace for not having the Locust in VS multiplayer.
GoW 3 and Judgement were the last installments before the series went woke and soulless. I'm level 50 in GoW 3 and LOVE it's multiplayer to death. It's just so crispy.
GB: "Nailing an experience's length is easier said and done, and one way or another, these games left a little to be desired on that front."
I always have a problem with games that should have been longer when lasting 8-10 hours.
Here's a question I ask all the time when ppl say that.
How many times have you replayed the story of a great game like Tlou2, GOW, Final Fantasy remake, GTA, Zelda, or any other 20 hours plus game? and usually, the answer varies between 0 and rarely 1.
So what's the point of having great 30 hours plus games if you will never replay them because of level, section, grinding dragging too long?
Disagree with Days Gone - yeah it took a while to really get going, but I appreciated it when I was done. Jumping right in at 4-5 hrs or whatever would've made the rest feel less impactful. RDR2 and Mankind Divided felt just right too, I wouldn't change them at all.
What needed less time was AC Valhalla. I was more than ready to be done with that by the time it was 2/3 over. Just too much useless stuff, and I hated the Asgard sections.
Well I think Gears of War 4 would be better then plaguing the franchise with not so good prequels.
I like Marcus I wouldn't mind him returning in Gears 4, I mean you have to give more of a backstory to the Queen, who she was and if she's human or not.
I mean the thing with Delta is that new characters will join like how Clayton Carmine, Samantha and Jayce are joined in Gears of War 3. So bringing new blood into the game is always happening....people die, then new people take their place...thats war for you.
You would think with a Queen there would also be a "King" in charge aswell. I thought doing something like that for a secret ending would of been good, like despite the queen being dead theres still someone in charge ready to avenge his people (since like the Queen he is also immune to the cleansing).
I don't really want Delta back - agree that the franchise needs new blood - and I don't want to play a prequel either.
TBH I'd like Epic to make a new action franchise. Perhaps something medieval.
The thing that I hate about war games is that it's the same war lasting across all three whole games. Finally Gears 3 had a conclusive ending with no "Well there's room to do this after....". A prequel to Gears doesnt interest me, neither does a sequel. The series is concluded, how about try to make a spiritual successor?
"You're not going to see a Gears 4 where Marcus is back, the Locust are back and the Queen is back. Because if I were to come out at a press event and do that, everybody's eyes would roll into the back of their heads."
At least he knows that :P
Here's hoping his new game does well.
I wonder if Gears 4 will take place off of Sera? And if the enemies are still Locust? Epic could still have the same gameplay, but maybe a new race of enemies?
