Max Payne 3 has "been developed in parallel, it's not a Port"

Rockstar Games has officially announced today over on Twitter that Max Payne 3 is not a port.

Skate-AK4413d ago

Still has some insane specs.

adorie4413d ago

Specs ARE insane. They recommend 16g of ram. seriously!? well... I have 1 more DIMM slot and I could just pick up another 4gig stick :D

Only thing I wouldn't consider messing with, is my CPU, I am content with the i7 2700k atm. I will upgrade once Ivy Bridge comes out though and GTX 680 is looking more likely to me. 2g of Vram makes me comfy. \m/

Army_of_Darkness4413d ago

After GTA4 and Red dead redemption, they better do a great job with the ps3 version!

Imalwaysright4413d ago (Edited 4413d ago )

16 gb RAM!! WTF? They didnt even bother to optimize the game!!

chanmasta4412d ago

Herp derp. They clearly stated in the specs 2GB-16GB...

http://www.rockstargames.co...

KeiserSosay47884413d ago

I actually don't understand why they listed the specs like they did. VERY out of the ordinary. I just don't see listing a GTX 680 as the ONLY way to run this game maxed at it's highest resolution and pulling 60 fps to be realistic. I mean, I haven't played the game but combine this CRAZY info with the fact that it recommends 16 GB's and I think this is BS. BF3 recommends like 4-8 gb RAM and that is HALF of what, apparently Max Payne can use. I can see the game looking better, but not needing TWICE the freakin' RAM!

Huarle4412d ago

They listed the range of hardware the game works on, not the recommended settings. You don't need 16 GB RAM (especially since a 64-bit .exe will most likely not be included anyway) to play in max settings.

adorie4412d ago

I think I was a lil too excited when I saw the specs. Those insane specs are just for refence. But's it's good to know Max Payne 3 can and will utilize the top of the line. That could be for 2500x1600 res @ steady 60fps, for all I know.

It seems like BF3, where the game scales great with HW.

Megaton4413d ago

Uh huh. I'm sure it's just the same as all their other games. Packed with several forms of 3rd party DRM and poorly optimized.

chaldo4413d ago

This is R* not activision or EA

Megaton4413d ago

You clearly need to educate yourself on PC gaming.

Activision doesn't bother with DRM other than Steamworks. EA uses 3rd party DRM like SecuROM or SolidShield in some of their games, but not all. Rockstar uses 3rd party DRM in all of their games and in some cases, more than 1 form of it. If you buy GTAIV on Steam, you have 4 types of DRM to deal with. Steam, GFWL, SecuROM, Rockstar Social. It's absurd.

BitbyDeath4413d ago

Anyone know if you'd need to play the others to understand this?

FarCryLover1824413d ago

I don't think so. However, it'd probably be a good idea to watch some youtube videos of Max Payne 1 and 2 or read the wikia for it. I have a feeling though that there will be a 'catching up' video with MP3 to bring you up to speed though.

SilentNegotiator4413d ago

Give them a playthrough anyway. They're great.

GamingPerson4413d ago

I am not sure what you play on but if you get it on steam you get max payne 1 & 2 free!

BitbyDeath4413d ago

My Toshiba Qosmio is about 2 years old now and probably couldn't handle the 3rd on a decent setting.

SilentNegotiator4413d ago (Edited 4413d ago )

Thanks for the tip!
I wouldn't mind replaying the first 2 on PC. I just got into PC gaming.

edit: I just read megaton's comment (2.1.1). Eh....nevermind. I'm not gonna bother with any Rockstar games on PC.

ReservoirDog3164413d ago

Probably not.

Recap. Max's life is hard and everyone dies around him. Especially women.

But truth be told, there's so much quality in the Max Payne series that you'd regret never playing 1&2. They're truly great games and they're not very expensive nowadays too. Part 1's even on iOS for $3.

Holeran4413d ago

If you can get them play them because they are outstanding. Max Payne 1 was one of my favorites of all time and Max Payne 2 was good as well. I have them both on the original xbox still.

GamingPerson4413d ago (Edited 4413d ago )

basilezz30304413d ago

I got 80% trophy completion on Ragnarok but left a few of the battles. Will come back to it one day.

Miraak82 327d ago

Dragon Quest 11 is my top pick

RpgSama327d ago

Dragon Quest XI was such an AMAZING game, I had a blast from the very beginning all the way to the very end, it actually got better the more you played, full of surprises as well.

Another game that I enjoyed from the very beginning all the way to the end of the 100% completion was Yakuza: Like a Dragon. Really, really, really fun game with a great heartfelt story.

badz149327d ago (Edited 327d ago )

Where is Horizon Zero Dawn?? where is Ghost of Tsushima?? I just got my Platinum on HZD and is now trying to finish the Frozen Wild expansion. so much care and love went into that game and it really shows. I especially adore the lore and have sunk many hours listening to the logs and reading journals. the back story is great and the gameplay is awesome. can't wait to replay on the hardest difficulty on NG+. next in my list would be to finish GoTsushima

Tacoboto327d ago

Ghost was fantastic especially after Iki Island and the PS5 upgrade. 100%'d that, Horizon Forbidden West (not ZD), GoW (not yet Ragnarok), Spider-Man, and R&C: Rift Apart.

Each one absolutely worth it.

Aloymetal327d ago (Edited 327d ago )

100% I would like to add to you list RDR2, amazing as well and the perks from getting the Legend Of The East outfit is awesome.
Sekiro as well, have to play twice to get it but it's worth it!

Demetrius327d ago

I agree I'm on my 2nd playthroughs of both horizon forbidden West(zero dawn I played also) ghost of Tsushima except I'm replaying it on PS5 this time, the iki island expansion is amazing

ClayRules2012327d ago

Yeah, GoT was already an AMAZING game on PS4, but playing it on PS5, along with that expansion, just even better.

Elda327d ago

I just started my copy of GOW:R, enjoying it so far.

DefenderOfDoom2327d ago (Edited 327d ago )

Okay the title of article should be top 10 , 3rd person games to complete 100 percent. Nine 3rd person games and 1 racing game on this list .
