"A surefire way to build buzz for your retro-tinged throwback game is to announce that it’ll be playable on the PAX show floor just a few hours before the doors open. It worked for Duke Nukem Forever at PAX Prime 2010 and it worked for Double Dragon: Neon, which made its debut at this year’s PAX East.
After getting some hands-on time with the game, we were able to sit down with Pete Rosky, an Assistant Product Manager at Majesco, the game’s publisher. During our short chat, we talked about the genesis of the game, weapons, enemies, and a certain actress who everyone agrees is the boss."
With River City Girls 2 arriving next week, it's time to look at the company's best!
"Digital games are more convenient than physical games, and usually cheaper too. Still, there's something about collecting physical games that appeals to many gamers. Preordering limited physical editions directly from boutique labels is always an option, but sometimes retailers offer the same editions for a better price. That's certainly the case with Best Buy, which currently has 14 Nintendo Switch titles from Limited Run up for preorder, including TMNT: Shredder's Revenge, Double Dragon Neon, and several more co-op hits," says Co-Optimus.
Limited Run Games is preparing physical editions for both Double Dragon Neon and Double Dragon IV for the Switch that include standard and Classic Limited Editions. Pre-orders go live on May 28th, 2021.
The original Double Dragon from the Arcades about 30 odd years ago was amazing at the time, i played Double Dragon Neon not long ago and it had totally lost all of its appeal, its either Double Dragon isnt that good anymore or Neon is a crap representative of the original..
Cannot wait to play this!
Played it a PAX was so awesome, if your a fan of the originals and dont mind old school gameplay I highly recommend it. I will be getting it day one, love old school coop games.
