Top 5 Best Movie Inspired Games

Good games that are based on or inspired by movies are hard to come by. Due to the fact the game often is scheduled to be released when the movie is released, there is not a lot of time to make sure the game is as good as it can be. E.T, a video game based on the hit movie, was partially responsible for the video game crash of ’83. There are a lot of games based on movies that comes out every year, mainly during the summer movie season and a few games out there are actually good. They may not be perfect, but they stand out from the hoard of dull games that are based on movies.

Nintendo 64 entertainment system exclusive Goldeneye 007 is still to this very day the greatest movie inspired game I have ever played. The pioneer of console FPS, and 4 player split screen action that was only possible on the Nintendo 64 entertainment system at the time. We were sure lucky for the choices Nintendo made in those times to add 4 controller ports on every Nintendo 64 entertainment system.

If you dig deep into your childhood memory to a time when gaming was at one of its highest points (N64 era). Chances are you will likely remember the amazing experiences you had with Goldeneye 007 on your Nintendo 64 entertainment system. All of those split screen multiplayer matches. All of the times you ran through single player on the different settings. All of the landmines you set trying to sucker your friends into their 00 agent style doom.

If your rules were legit, you also banned Oddjob from being selected in deathmatch because he was cheap. You raced to the blue body armor, and did your best to make sure you were the one to find and equip the RCP90. We all owe a bit of respect to goldeneye 007 and the Nintendo 64 entertainment system for making an almost once impossible situation come to reality. The birth of competitive FPS titles on console.

Have a blessed day and happy gaming.

Maybe it is time to just let Goldeneye go. People keep e-begging for this game and it came back in various iterations; remastered and original and in the end it was just meh. The game was a product of its time like Perfect Dark and Timesplitters.

It's from a bygone era that was good at the time but is pants now. Same with turok.

NotoriousWhiz53d ago

Whoa whoa whoa. Turok still holds up great.

I had a blast with a Bugs Bunny game on PS1 as a kid. It is probably trash now but at the time, it was awesome.

"50 Cent: Blood in the sand"

Ps3 scored 6/10 all round loads of review sites but was so much fun while not a technical masterpiece in any way has a worthwhile engaging story and script and of course an unbeatable soundtrack.
