The latest release in the Warhammer series has been reviewed by Gameplayer. Although they are critical of many aspects of the experience, overall they have a positive take on the experience.
"There are many draws to the tabletop game Warhammer 40,000: a fully-realised sci-fi/fantasy universe full of elaborate gothic trappings, robust tactical combat, and a satisfying hobby that involves inhaling a lot of paint fumes. It also costs a bomb. When compared to all those lead miniatures and sprawling model sets, this new video game is a bargain."

Between Dead Island, Disgaea 4, Driver: San Francisco, and Resistance 3, fans of just about every genre were covered. And yet, I can't help but wonder if one other game is getting wrongly overlooked. Warhammer 40000: Space Marine is a hyper violent action shooter that takes place within the tabletop game's universe, something that most gamers just aren't familiar with. I have both (collectors ed too btw), both are interesting AND fun, I'm new to the warhammer universe and these games caught me by surprise.....great lore and story and the action in these games is non-stop. I highly recommend to anyone into Gears, Unreal, Killzone, Vanquish, etc... a gem that should not be passed up.

Nonetheless any price drops is a great thing.
Warhammer is a pretty rich, if not over the top universe, that is actually full of extremely interesting lore on par with universes such as those created by Blizzard, however, where Warhammer has a stranglehold on the Tabletop gaming industry, Blizzard knows perfectly well how to make exceptional gaming experiences. And while we all love a great story, sometimes an uneven balance or really not paying any mind to a balance in the first place can see a potentially great game wind up at the bottom of a gaming pile never to be seen or heard from the game - such is the case with Warhammer 40,000: Squad Command.
when this game caught my eye. I'm not one for card games anymore, but it looked like an interesting time-killer for $20. Didn't get it, but you never know - might go back and pick it up.
