Gamesta.com follows up on Gabriel Knight's creator Kickstarter project. Pinkerton Road from Jane Jensen launched a fan voting on what game they should produce first. The verdict was a 63% to Moebius.
Pinkerton Road, developers of Moebius and Gabriel Knight 20th Anniversary are closing down their forums and other site related functions due to poor sales and reviews of their games.
Only a matter of time before the whole studio folds im sure.
Marcus Estrada writes: "2012 was a massive year for Kickstarter and gaming. It was the year that both Double Fine Adventure and Ouya campaigns appeared. Everyone in the game development scene was trying to bring their product to the masses via the site, and that included many industry icons. Jane Jensen was one of these people. Best known for her work on the Gabriel Knight series, she pitched a campaign to bring forth a new development studio known as Pinkerton Road. Not only that, but she would be creating a new game similar in tone to the classic Gabriel Knight games."
Good storys are quite rare among the videogames business nowadays. So much the better, if you finally find a game with a moving story.
