... yet lots of content will be locked out because of retailer-exclusive content(!)

... Yet one more game I won't be buying until there's a complete release.

While I find the numerous pre-order bonuses frustrating as well, I would hardly consider a couple different skins and weapons "lots of content." These are apparently for Germany though, so maybe North America's will be different. We shall see I suppose.

spektical4410d ago

disagree. as long as the content isnt game based. Skins are irrelevant to how a game moves a long. Weapons should be early unlocks similar to wat DICE did with BC2.

Canary4410d ago

Kind of depends on the game. If it's got a lot of different skins IN the game, that's all well and good. But if it's like, say, Tales of Graces, and there are only a handful of in-game costumes, selling new ones at $8 a pop is NOT COOL.

Nitrowolf24410d ago

True
but I remember a time when all this stuff was included in the game as special unlocks.
Ah PS2 how I've missed you

Kahvipannu4410d ago (Edited 4410d ago )

You guys realize the thing is that these shouldn't have to be bonuses and regional.. Even if they are just simple skins, the context of the bonus stuff is irrelevant, why not include them for everybody? Exactly.

For example I pre-ordered MK, I got Jade klassik kostume, some people got bunch load of them. Now, we propably payed the same price, both pre-ordered it, and I would have to wait until these kostumes come to the PSN and spend more money on them.. Becouse I ordered the game from somewhere else, come on.. it's stupid. Not as stupid as Epic asking 3 € for "green skins for guns", an old Pc-dev, which you can do in couple minutes on PC platform by yourself.. But as long as the console growd will buy this kind of milking, it won't end.

And no, I never bought the kostumes, I'm not that stupid, that's patch stuff, or atleast used to be before current gen-consoles.. But it was just an example.

That Kostume thing annoyed me too, I still don't have the classic costumes - a few were unavailable for the UK originally as well.

Reborn4410d ago

I'd only be disappointed if its SP missions. Other than that, skins for MP etc, don't really tickle me. I don't play AC MP, couldn't find myself into it.

I hope the US Amazon does that Captain Outfit with the brass pistol, I dig it plus the hat looks cool kinda remindes me of Brotherhood of the Wolf.

Bethesda makes the most consistently stupid NPCs, like really bad... yet I still can't help but love playing their games. Guilty pleasure, I guess. *sigh* 😩

How did redfall not make the cut.

My first thought was the safe rooms in the resident evil series. When you hear that enchanting music you know you’re safe.

Killer2020UK274d ago

I literally just came here to post this. That music in the Resi 1 safe rooms is playing in my head.

Rimeskeem274d ago

I was thinking TLOU work benches. Although I remember one time where it was a false security.

Perfect. 👌👌

I'd add the top of my highrise apartment in GTA Online. That calm, quiet peace, just knowing as soon as I step out that door I will be bombarded by 8 and 12 year olds calling each other n**** and f****, trolled by combat jets and rocket launchers.

The entire map of SotC is peaceful as hell. Used to just ride around exploring it.

mastershredder274d ago (Edited 274d ago )

Afterlife in Cyberpunk 2077 is a peaceful area? Erm, hands down and very hard to miss, Misty Olszewski's Esoterica is the absolute epitome of peaceful areas in that game.

The "last of us" deer location i found to be a welcoming respite. It was nice to not have someone trying to eat me.

Kingdom Hearts tend to present half peaceful areas and most of them are amazing.

'Assassin’s Creed III': Ten Years Later

With the recent reveal of Assassin’s Creed Mirage and the promise that the series will return to its roots, there hasn’t been a better time to get stuck into Assassin’s Creed’s back catalog, whether it’s replaying an old favorite or getting lost in previously looked-over classic.

Ten years later, we miss the old you, Assassin's Creed.

Popsicle548d ago (Edited 548d ago )

I really enjoyed Assassins Creed 3. My only complaint was that I didn’t enjoy when I had to switch from Connor to Desmond. It’s a personal preference, but Connor’s story was just more fun for me.

On a side note, Black flag was the most enjoyable of the AC games I played.
