Play Vault: "Do you remember 1998? Capcom clearly do and they’re very keen to remind you about it as it was Resident Evil franchises’ heyday. Children across the world were being terrified by Resident Evil 2 and just when they thought it was safe to come out from under the covers Resident Evil 3: Nemesis would be out the following year. Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City is a throw back into this year and takes us back to the outbreak that happened in the series’ favourite punchbag Raccoon City.
Resident Evil Operation Raccoon City is a prime example of how to abuse a franchise because it’s fans will buy anything. I’ve seen fans on some forums defending this game to the hilt, while I think loyalty is a virtue there becomes a point where it is blind and idiotic. This is a terrible excuse for a game and I recommend you leave it out of your disk trays and save your money."
GF365: "Is Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City worth playing in 2023? This game originally received less than impressive reviews from critics and gamers alike. You may be wondering what this game is all about."
game was ridiculously dark when i played it bk then. not sure about now.
ike you couldnt see a damn thing ha
Now that Resident Evil 3 remake is less than a month away, here's a look back at the other times Capcom reimagined the 1999 classic game.
The Gamer's Ghost returns in this Late in the Game Review series to revisit Raccoon City. Did Slant Six Games' premier Resident Evil title hold up to the series' standards? Or was it rotten, like the very zombies spawned from Umbrella's dastardly research?
I actually thought this was a fun game. Was it great? No. But there were some very cool moments in the game.
Stand outs were taking on the Nemesis with a group and the Tyrant on the elevator.
One if the worst games I ever had the dishonor of playing I'm glad Capcom has rebounded to making quality games now even outside the RE series.
hmm.. I had high hopes for this game but alas...I guess I wait for RE6 now.
Man i got the game and it's great don't let these reviewing fools tell you not to buy it. If you're worried then buy it used from Gamestop and try it, if you don't like it you can bring it back and get full refund in 7 days. I got it new and i love it.
Nothings wrong with the idea of the game...just the way it was executed.
Slant Six is what's wrong with it.
Capcom is what's wrong with RE6 as they're making the games shooter instead of horror games now.
