Obama tops gamer presidential survey, Paul top Republican candidate

Barack Obama is the overwhelming favorite presidential candidate according to a poll conducted by Nexon America regarding its MapleStory online PC game players' political interests. A majority of the game's players identified themselves as politically independent and cited unemployment as the most pressing issue facing Americans today.

I feel like any comment, for or against this, would cause a big argument.

Regent_of_the_Mask4413d ago

I'm sure he'll sign a law to ban M rated video games soon (especially if retards actually vote for him again). He's already signed away most of America's rights already.

UncleRukusNoRelation4413d ago

what rights cause last I checked he's trying to give gays the right to get married so unless obama has taking away your right to be racist or screw your little brother I think he's giving you more rights than taken

Kyosuke_Sanada4413d ago

Sorry dude but when I read your post it was in Uncle Ruckus' voice XD........

WombBat4412d ago

Your very misinformed. Obama will be remembered as one of the worst presidents in the history of the united states.

he signed:
-NDAA(can now kill anyone he wants without trial, essentially making it a dictatorship)
-NDRP(he can now take any of your food, oil, land)
-Trespass bill(protesting in front of presidents is now illegal, essentally destroyin g our bill of rights)
-Starting more wars, where our brothers are losing their legs
-doesnt take orders from congress like it says in the constitution

Im really sad that gamers are supporting obama, theyre usually the most informed

rogimusprime4413d ago (Edited 4413d ago )

I agree. Regent, can you name ANY of the rights he's signed away since taking office? I'll wait. Don't forget who signed the patriot act, either.

LiquifiedArt4413d ago

NDAA!

Get a clue people.

Only the worst law ever. Pretty much legalized Tyranny behavior.

ThePiousPriest4413d ago

How about the entire Bill of Rights? While Bush started to sell these at firesale prices to whatever MIC contractor or bank wanted them, Obama has put it on a reverse auction. Anyone see the police crackdown of the Occupy Movement? If folks in the gaming community were as "intelligent" as they say they were versus the rest of the American Public, they would back Ron Paul more so rather than the sell out Barack Obama. Obama was a start up who got bought off, Lobbyist don't even bother with talking to Ron Paul since he can't be bought.

yeah that's what he did..and if you believe fox news then Merica is now a communist/socialist/Islamic fundamentalist country.

considering that this is the worst economic crisis since the great depression I'd say Obama did a hell of a job of pulling our asses out of the fire in just four short years.

Views of the Obama Administration on NDAA
http://en.wikipedia.org/wik...

On December 31 and after signing the National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2012 into law, President Obama issued a statement on it addressing "certain provisions that regulate the detention, interrogation, and prosecution of terrorism suspects". In the statement Obama maintains that "the legislation does nothing more than confirm authorities that the Federal courts have recognized as lawful under the 2001 AUMF". The statement also maintains that the "Administration will not authorize the indefinite military detention without trial of American citizens", and that it "will interpret section 1021 in a manner that ensures that any detention it authorizes complies with the Constitution, the laws of war, and all other applicable law". Referring to the applicability of civilian versus military detention, the statement argued that "the only responsible way to combat the threat al-Qa'ida poses is to remain relentlessly practical, guided by the factual and legal complexities of each case and the relative strengths and weaknesses of each system. Otherwise, investigations could be compromised, our authorities to hold dangerous individuals could be jeopardized, and intelligence could be lost."[42]

On 28 February 2012, the Obama Administration announced that it would waive the requirement for military detention in "any case in which officials [believe] that placing a detainee in military custody could impede counterterrorism cooperation with the detainee’s home government or interfere with efforts to secure the person’s cooperation or confession".[25] Application of military custody to any suspect is determined by a national security team including the attorney general, the secretaries of state, defense and homeland security, the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, and the director of national intelligence.

So he did a good job bankrupting America even more? I'm not even American and I'm not dumb enough to believe obama helped anything.

Why do people think that just because Obama put a signing note at the bottom of the NDAA that it somehow makes it okay that it was every signed into law at all?

Whether Obama does, or doesn't use that power of detaining US citizens, it doesn't stop FUTURE Presidents from taking full advantage of it. Obama promised to Veto the NDAA if it came across his desk, and he didn't. He caved. That's what the problem is with Obama. He stood up for Romneycare (the backbone of Obamacare) which in the long run will result in poor overall health care, and actually increase health care cost since the amount of doctors hospitals needs to employ has doubled and in some cases even tripled. But he failed to stand up for something that could result in many innocent people being thrown in a foreign prison, like Gitmo, with the NDAA. It's a shame really.

I wish Ron Paul would Win.. but doesn't preach Jesus and I hate gays Enough.. Ron Paul is a stand up guy and goes with what he thinks is right , not what a false Religion thinks is right

Hicken4413d ago (Edited 4413d ago )

Any religion is false to those who don't share its faith. Thus, not one of them is "right."

I dunno where you were trying to go with your comment, but I'm pretty sure you didn't get there...

On topic: interesting poll. It'd be even more interesting to see what type of responses a game with a population like Call of Duty's would garner.

Deputydon4412d ago (Edited 4412d ago )

Um, actually you didn't understand what Darkspade meant. He was saying that as a member of the Republican Party, Ron Paul doesn't base his Political views enough on his Religion in order for the general Republican voting population to like him.

Ron Paul is a very, very religious man, but he doesn't believe that others should be forced to follow his beliefs. And Ron Paul doesn't hate on Gay people like everyone else in the Republican party. So what DarkSpade is trying to say, is that if Ron Paul spoke more of his faith in God, how terrible it is for Gay people to be married, and if he advocated going to war with every other country out there, that he would have a far better chance to win the Nomination to take on Barack Obama.

Ron Paul is the only candidate running for President (or even Obama himself) that is serious and has a plan, most of which Paul could actually do without Congress' support, to cut our spending. A Ron Paul Presidency would bring an incredible amount of jobs to the United States based on his Tax Plans alone. The problem is to get his Tax Plan to work, we need to listen to his foreign policy. And people think his foreign policy is some terrible idea that would start WW3, disregarding the fact taht every other candidate (except Obama) wants to go to war with any country that disagrees with us at all. Santorum and Gingrich pretty much declared war on Cuba. Cuba? Really?

Paul 2012!!

I wanna play him in Super Marvel vs. Capcom.
