This will be the fifth game in a six year period. I am weary of this series now and all I have be seeing is an onslaught of press for this new game. Is anyone else tired of this franchise right now? Ubisoft should give this series a much deserved rest for a bit, you think?

Nimblest-Assassin4432d ago

Well 3 has been in development for 3 years, and the only reason they have been rushing out games in inorder to fit the 2012 prophecy...

Hopefully after 3 they give AC a break

limewax4432d ago

Personally I am bored of the old style of ass creed gameplay because it was never executed properly, the new one could be more interesting to me personally. But the rushed out games over the past years have been really unnecessary. AC:B and AC:R provided little expansion to the gameplay system of which I personally have felt for a long time would have worked better next gen.

In that sense it is actually a bit of a shame it is being changed drastically as I would have liked to see where it could have gone on the new systems

Outside_ofthe_Box4432d ago

Well you should always be cautious about paying $60 for a game. Though AC3 sounds too awesome right now not to buy it day one. Until something questionable comes comes up I am really anticipating this game.

Nimblest-Assassin4432d ago

why would anyone disagree with A FACT?

http://en.wikipedia.org/wik...

In Assassin's Creed we set up a timeline with this whole end of the world plot in December 2012... That's fast approaching, and the story we have to tell, we obviously need to do it before we arrive at that point. It would be stupid of us to be centering a game on a semi-reality and then have that conclusion happen after that date in real life.

Assassin's Creed 3 looks promising. I can tell the team behind the game put their best into making it. They've completely reworked pretty much the entire game, and yet people still say the game was made in over three weekends.

I can't wait for the game to come out, although I can't fully say it will be good or bad, since we are going to have to wait until October for that.

The people who skipped brotherhood and revelations, like me, aren't tired of the series. I loved ac 2 so I'm very excited for 3.

b-real4431d ago

I agree.

I missed those but loved 2. Hopefully there was not to much of the overall story in those 2 games, or they do a good job at the beginning of 3 to fill everyone in. I actually like the overall story of Desmond and look forward the inevitable final game in which Desmond is the main assassin based in a modern city.

jocomat94431d ago

haha same here exactly lol

TheGameFoxJTV4431d ago

There's QUITE a bit you have missed. Get ready to miss alot of stuff. lol

omi25p4432d ago

I am pretty much uninterested by the game. Im bored of the franchise.

Nimblest-Assassin4432d ago

No... judging from your comments, you just do not like the American Revolution as the setting.

Also, if you followed this game, you would know they changed almost every aspect from 2, B, AND R

omi25p4432d ago

@nimblest-Assassin

Im interest by the setting because the Templars have always beaten the assassins in every battle.

That's been the story through Assassins Creed. So in the battle between the colonists and the English the Templars HAVE to be the Colonists.

Yet all we have seen is screen shots and trailers of American flags and dead English soldiers.

Im uninterested because it looks as if the developers have let politics effect the story, Im English and im not bothered about the fact you can kill English soldiers.

Im bothered by the fact an assassin only kills people who either are or work for the Templars and it seems the entire English army works for them and the Colonists are the typical Hollywood good guys.

Also other than a few new weapons The Assassins creed franchise has said pretty much identical since the second one.

Nimblest-Assassin4432d ago (Edited 4432d ago )

Once again... you have not been following up. First how does politics have anything to do with this?

Ubisoft is based in Europe, and Europeans are the prime buyers of Assassin's Creed games. So wouldn't it make sense for them to market this towards the european market?

They keep stressing that it is a battle between Assassins and templars, the war is just a background.

The American's won the war, they can not change history, but it is the setting.

And the Americans were essentially Europeans rebelling against the British Empire back in the time.

And yes, you will be killing Americans as well as British, I mean give it some time. This is not some pro american video game. The have not even shown any gameplay. Connor is a character who fights for what he believes is right. They are just trying to sell the setting for the game now. Give them sometime before judging and saying the game is pro america for only showing Connor killing British.

Also with 3 so much has changed from 2, why do you keep ignoring these articles and instantly dismiss it as them adding a few new weapons?

The have torn down everything that made Assassins Creed Assassins Creed and redid it from the ground up. Hell according to journalists the game looks feels and plays completely different. They had to put stuff like the eagle cry as you leap of faith in order to remind you that you are playing a Creed game.

Hell Im Canadian, Im the bastard child of both the British and the US, and we burned down the White House.Im not pro america or pro british, just what I feel.

Give it sometime before you keep saying Im not interested in this game.

This is game is not pro america....

HOWEVER THIS IS: http://www.youtube.com/watc...

"Ubisoft is based in Europe, and Europeans are the prime buyers of Assassin's Creed games. So wouldn't it make sense for them to market this towards the european market?"

Well that is true but it also make sense that they would market it american friendly as america is a large market. It is kind of working as well. Before we saw anything except a few art pics this website went AC mad. I am not saying they just choose the setting to generate interest but that has happened. I am interested in this game because i like AC games but want is loosing my interest is the trailer that was shown which has a different theme and feel to what is being said by ubisoft. Its hard to ignore this is being marketed in such a way to generate American interest

"An improved stealth system works in your favor

...but you can also move fluidly through shadows and darkness, effectively sneaking up on someone and taking them out. We’re down."

This should have been part of the AC games from the very start. I realise Ubi were woried that AC would not be distiguishable enough from Splinter Cell with it's shadow stealth.

Then when the first SC:Conviction build was shown, it looked simply like a modern AC game. (Used a very similar blending mechanic / guard alert indicator)

The games are coming to a point where they will be very similar. I mean, if there was a downloadable skin for SC conviction where you played as Desmond, would that be much diferent to how you think It will play when they eventually do a modern Ass Creed?

I'm glad they aint fighting it though. A shadow stealth system would be great in this game. and the ability to crouch, and sneak.

Canary4431d ago

If they make a game with Desmond as an assassin, I hope it's a separate game, and not part of these awesome historical titles.

That way I can not buy it.

Because **** Desmond.

I_LOVE_MYSELF4432d ago

I kind of liked 1 and kind of loved 2. I think that is as far as I go with this franchise. I just put my friends copy of Brotherhood in the PS3 and played the intro and I honestly just don't have the desire to play through any more AC games.

ziggurcat4432d ago

assbro and assrev are pretty good. i'd revisit them.

Ghost2504432d ago

dont even bother with revelations or brotherhood, they are nothing more than expansions tbh. you can live without playing them. just play 3 when it comes out

Simon_Brezhnev4432d ago

At least brotherhood was a lot better than Revelations. I guess i like brotherhood since it was my 1st AC game. Brotherhood made me go back and play AC1 and AC2.

ziggurcat4432d ago

well, the only reason i need is the fact that i've played all of the other AC installments.

josephayal4432d ago

Revolution was really bad i hope 3 take Assassin creed to the next level.

Bethesda makes the most consistently stupid NPCs, like really bad... yet I still can't help but love playing their games. Guilty pleasure, I guess. *sigh* 😩

How did redfall not make the cut.

My first thought was the safe rooms in the resident evil series. When you hear that enchanting music you know you’re safe.

Killer2020UK291d ago

I literally just came here to post this. That music in the Resi 1 safe rooms is playing in my head.

Rimeskeem291d ago

I was thinking TLOU work benches. Although I remember one time where it was a false security.

Perfect. 👌👌

I'd add the top of my highrise apartment in GTA Online. That calm, quiet peace, just knowing as soon as I step out that door I will be bombarded by 8 and 12 year olds calling each other n**** and f****, trolled by combat jets and rocket launchers.

The entire map of SotC is peaceful as hell. Used to just ride around exploring it.

mastershredder291d ago (Edited 291d ago )

Afterlife in Cyberpunk 2077 is a peaceful area? Erm, hands down and very hard to miss, Misty Olszewski's Esoterica is the absolute epitome of peaceful areas in that game.

raiden_188291d ago

The "last of us" deer location i found to be a welcoming respite. It was nice to not have someone trying to eat me.

RPGer290d ago

Kingdom Hearts tend to present half peaceful areas and most of them are amazing.

'Assassin’s Creed III': Ten Years Later

With the recent reveal of Assassin’s Creed Mirage and the promise that the series will return to its roots, there hasn’t been a better time to get stuck into Assassin’s Creed’s back catalog, whether it’s replaying an old favorite or getting lost in previously looked-over classic.

Ten years later, we miss the old you, Assassin's Creed.

Popsicle565d ago (Edited 565d ago )

I really enjoyed Assassins Creed 3. My only complaint was that I didn’t enjoy when I had to switch from Connor to Desmond. It’s a personal preference, but Connor’s story was just more fun for me.

On a side note, Black flag was the most enjoyable of the AC games I played.
