It's always nice when there's a bit of charitable news regarding massive global companies supporting good causes, but the latest from Microsoft seems a bit odd no matter how commendable it appears.
Jack writes: "Picture the scene: it’s November 2011, you’re the parent of young children (or the partner of someone with low expectations) and are being nagged constantly about a holiday to Disneyland. You balk at the price tag, distance to travel and the general sense of unease in filling the pockets of one of the world’s most amoral and ultra-capitalist conglomerates. Fortunately, there is a cheap, easy and guilt-free alternative to visiting any Disney property. One that recreated the experience to such a degree that, for the most part, it still holds up a decade later. It is the game Kinect Disneyland Adventures."
While the Xbox hasn’t traditionally been targeted to younger children, its popularity has made it a centerpiece for most home theater systems. Because of that the little rug rats often want to play with the toy.
Here is our Top 5 Xbox 360 Games For small kids.
A good list and the games included are not something I'd consider expensive. Anyone else have better suggestions for Xbox 360 games for kids?
Black Ops II. Lol sorry, kidding, kidding...
Lego Harry Potter is actually pretty fun. Although the freaking collectibles are crazy... There are way too many, and being a perfectionist hurts with a game like that.
Microsoft Studios has today launched a selection of new Xbox 360 console bundles at retail stores throughout the UK. Whether you’re after a family party experience with Dance Central 2 or an adult adventure with The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, these three new hardware bundles are designed to satisfy your needs.
They probably want some attention after all the iPhone 5 and Wii U news, ha ha.
That is some nice bundles. Particularly the Forza 4 and Skyrim bundle. Maybe I can snap up those games on the cheap on ebay soon! :)
Who will buy that out dated mess of a console. Buy a wi u, or buy a ps3 ultra slim instead. Also instead of having to buy an Xbox live membership save yourself 10 dollars and buy a ps+ membership that will provide you with a ton of games so you don't need to buy one right away.
Not a bad deal minus Skyrim. Yeah I can see MS pulling off some pretty big ads this holiday, more than ever since Wii U got announced for the 18th of Nov.
@above yeah, the MS bashing gets extremely annoying on here. Its always the same tired excuses for there loathe of MS. Makes no sense.
If i had to choose between these bundles & wii u bundles, id go for wii u.. I have a ps3 tho.. Witcher 2 is prolly all id want on xbox
Those numbers definitely make it seem like a PR stunt only and not actually wanting to help anyone.
"We're gonna give 15% of our sales to charity (from one seller only) on a game that only sells a few thousand a week b/c it's months old."
Sheisty.
There's no way they will reach the six figures they have pledged. This is a poor PR stunt for a game no one is interested in any more. I agree with the article - why not use Kinect Rush instead?
Microsoft can afford to be charitable in other areas with the amount of money they're charge us for On Demand games and playing online.
Anyone remember the Bing! search charity for the Japan earthquake? Use the crappy search engine they've been pushing for so bloody long and they'll give money?
Yeah... Microsoft is baaaaad with PR.
Dont expect "a saintly action" from any corporation.
The dont do anything unless there is a high chance of a profit.
They would sooner let starving children die than open their wallets and give.
This isnt just MS, EVERY corporation and company are like this.
Hell, most of the f**king charities are like this.
