Mortal Kombat Vita Might Be the Game That Makes Me Buy a Vita

@King...I also played MK on SNES...but if you recall it almost didn't happen. They were hesitant to actually adapt the game and initially wanted HUGE changes. The compromise was the ability to turn on and off blood (which was initially supposed to just all be gray).

I know what you mean but that mini game wouldnt be as fun on the 3DS because you cant use the top screen to wipe the blood away. Sure you could use the bottom one to do it but it would feel akward plus the bottom screen being 4:3 instead of 16:9 would make it extremely difficult to do.

I dont mean to mock the 3DS but i really dont see how a 3D screen could add to the gameplay in a game like Mortal Kombat.

edit: Im really interested in a fighting game for the Vita but i cant decide between MK9 and UMVC3. I guess i will just buy MK9 digitally when it comes out and at the same time buy UMVC3 either used or new from Amazon.

Reality Fighters is based around AR, and it's there in the game.

Mortal Kombat showed something in a trailer that looked like AR, but it was just implying that you can take MK anywhere.

I think they need more good fighting games for the Vita. I play UMvC3 nonstop on it because it works great and is quick and easy on the go. I'll definitely be picking MK up and SFxT when it comes out.

It's definitely one of my big reasons for wanting a Vita. With all of the dlc already included, you just can't beat the value. Plus it looks damn good on Vita.

I don't think this is a reason to pick up a PSV at all. I have the PSV and think its an amazing console but I find games like MNR, UCGA, MSRC little devants are reasons to pickup the psv not console ports.

You come to see the games you love and you stay to find the gems. Just like any console launch, there has to be a careful mixture of the tried and true (for those that aren't as adventurous) and the new and innovative IP's.

But, like people have said a million times, the PS3 version is not portable.That is the point of a handheld. Portability. It's like people STILL just don't get it.

Of course the console version of a game is nearly always gonna be better. But you can't play that console version wherever you go. I mean, even if you lugged your console, controller, and a monitor everywhere you went, you'd still need a power source. And one capable of powering all that sufficiently for any decent length of time wouldn't be any more portable than the mass of stuff you'd already be carrying.

What's that? But you wanted to play the game on the go, when you're not home?

Well, may I suggest a Vita or 3DS? They frequently offer exceptional versions of console games, but are compact enough that you don't need something with wheels to carry them around.

It's just something to complain about, honestly.

I just picked up Virtua Tennis 4 on Vita.

It was more expensive than the PS3 version (24.99 vs 9.99) but graphically it's pretty close, there's a few different features and the ability to take it out with me, due to its pick up and play nature, is a lot more useful than buying a home version, even if I loved VT3 on PS3.

It's no longer as simple as it was with PSP versions of games being so far removed from the console games the choice was obvious.

I will be getting thus game. It looks really good and plus I've never gotten the chance to play it on the consoles. Is just me or has anybody notice that the psp doesn't push out that many colors? The game kind of looks washed out.

I think its how they ported it over but yes the colors do seem washed out.

the vita (ngp) was announced around the launch of mk last year. i held off buying mk cause i figured it would be on the vita this year. i was right and im excited. i only played the demo last year and i loved it, so this game is a big deal for me :)love it when a plan comes together.
