Mortal Kombat Vita Might Be the Game That Makes Me Buy a Vita

RipTen: "This is no simple portable port, oh hell no. Mortal Kombat Vita was rebuilt from the gound up for Sony’s new handheld, and it shows. Not only that, but the game includes every single piece of DLC already available for the console release, as well as hours of hours of even more kontent designed specifically for the PSV"

Man that blood splattering on the screen would look great in 3D!

CrzyFooL4436d ago

I see what you're getting at but MK is TOO VIOLENT for Nintendo :-p

Game3s4436d ago

like resident evil XD

KingNintendoFanboy4436d ago

What are you talking about? I played MK on SNES!

iceman064436d ago

@King...I also played MK on SNES...but if you recall it almost didn't happen. They were hesitant to actually adapt the game and initially wanted HUGE changes. The compromise was the ability to turn on and off blood (which was initially supposed to just all be gray).

I know what you mean but that mini game wouldnt be as fun on the 3DS because you cant use the top screen to wipe the blood away. Sure you could use the bottom one to do it but it would feel akward plus the bottom screen being 4:3 instead of 16:9 would make it extremely difficult to do.

I dont mean to mock the 3DS but i really dont see how a 3D screen could add to the gameplay in a game like Mortal Kombat.

edit: Im really interested in a fighting game for the Vita but i cant decide between MK9 and UMVC3. I guess i will just buy MK9 digitally when it comes out and at the same time buy UMVC3 either used or new from Amazon.

PSVita

I absolutely LOVED MK9 on consoles and I will most certainly be picking this up for the Vita. I will also be playing my old techno MK CD until that happens. Test... your MIGHT.

metsgaming4436d ago

So many fighting games on the vita. Did they confirm that the AR fighting was just a tech demo or are they actually going to go through with it?

ginsunuva4436d ago

Reality Fighters is based around AR, and it's there in the game.

Mortal Kombat showed something in a trailer that looked like AR, but it was just implying that you can take MK anywhere.

My favorite is always going to be Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3. I know some people didn't like the addition of the run button. But, man that game is burned into my memory from childhood, lol.

That's the one I played the most as a kid. Fun times gaming on my Sega Genesis, the memories

Deception, MK2, MK9, MKX ..rest.

MK2 will always be the best in the series. Been playing a lot of MK1 lately though. Definitely enjoying it more than any other NRS era MK game.

Tankbusta40183d ago

1 and 2 were cultural phenomenon's.

I will always have a special place in my memory for MK 1 and 2. You had to be there during that era at the arcades. Martial arts tournament fighting movies were still popular, and MK 1 was exciting. Real life motion captured characters done well (unlike Pit Fighter). A cast of characters we all liked like Bruce Lee(Lui Kang), Van Damme(Johnny Cage), the Lightning god(Raiden) from Big Trouble in Little China, and Ninjas, gotta have Ninjas. Goro was menacing as hell. The MK arcade had some of the best speakers similar to Killer Instinct as you could hear the loud crisp and bassy sound that was distinctly different than other arcades. MK 2 improved greatly on the controls and fighting mechanics
