Sid Meier's Civilization series is one of the few games left carrying the torch for the turn-based strategy genre. With genre offerings being so thin, it's natural that fans have high hopes for every release in the series.
With E3 starting next week, 2K Games revealed the biggest E3 line up they have for the year

AMD has released a brand new driver for its graphics cards. According to the release notes, the AMD Radeon Adrenalin Edition 18.2.1 is optimized for Final Fantasy XII: The Zodiac Age. Moreover, this driver addresses some corruption issues on some terrain in Need for Speed Payback, and some launch issues on Hybrid Graphics system configurations when using the DirectX9 API in Sid Meier’s Civilization V.
It appears that Sid Meier’s Civilization V has hit a new milestone. According to Steamspy’s data, Firaxis’ strategy game has sold more than 10 million units worldwide.
That's quite an achievement! It would be interesting to know how many units were sold at full price and how many during a Steam Sale. I think I bought it for $10 during one of the big sales.
Sounds great to me. Should get me back into Civ 5 a bit more.
What I don't get is if they're making the expansion "based on player feedback," they're still not including the very simple, easy-to-implement feature I've seen people begging for off and on for more than a decade: customizable leaders.
It wouldn't be that hard to randomize traits/personalities, add a basic character creator so you could make your own unique leader, and so that other leaders could, you know, die. It never made sense for the same people to lead their respective nations for thousands of years.
Plus, it'd add more depth to the gameplay, as diplomatic relations could change with the regime. Allied nations could become antagonistic, old enemies might find new kings more amicable to our collective player causes.
But, nope. It's just more of the same. Some minor tweaks, some new civs and new set leaders.
Man, this looks awesome...
