Street Fighter X Tekken Review: Fighting Champions Clash with Success or Failure?-TheGamerAccess.com

"Capcom is no stranger to making crossover games, so when they announced Street Fighter X Tekken it seemed like a natural fit. Capcom has developed numerous crossover games from Capcom to SNK to the lesser known Tatsunoku."

SxT is a awesome game ,sadly , Super Street Fighter 4 ae is way way way better

FlashXIII4433d ago

Sort of agree but only as I'm an Ibuki player. SxT is a LOT of fun though and well worth the money I paid.

So if i didnt like sf4 then im not going to like this game either? Im a tekken fan so i assume id b better off waiting for TxSF?

I just hated sf4 online bc it just seemed like a special move/projectile spam fest. I prefer tekkens slower, more strategic pace.

How much does sfxt retain that strategy to those that have played this?

Also, another concern of mine was that the tekken fighters would b @ a disadvantage due to sf focus on projectile combat ... is this a legitimate concern? (Id b playin this for the tekken cast, not the sf side)

umm well its a toss up. obviously on Sfxt you still get the spammers who arn't very good just a waste of time chasing them. I got only around 300BP so far but the amount of spammers in projectiles is way down. And replaced by Hiachis 4 hit combo spam that leads into 1/2 a health bar of damage play 5x games online and you will see it 1-3 times in those 5.
I play on ps3 due to xbox dpad and me not being good with a joystick if m not standing over it. So i use a floating Dpad fight controller.

Fun game

To be honest the tekken characters have the upper hand, street fighters on average have a better wake up game but the tekken characters have unbelievable frame trap combos that take a lot of damage... At the end of the day, if you suck at fighting games you will always find an excuse on why you are loosing (including blaming the game). just put the time in and you will be fine. your only going against other human beings like yourself

Ok thx guys. I appreciate the feedback. ... BUT hows the speed/pace of the game compared to tekken?

To b honest, im not that good @ SF (or UMvC/SC): theyre just too fast for my taste ...

But im pretty good at tekken, so the ups to the tekken fighters makes it a little more tempting to me. It all depends on the speed now. If its slower than the SF games (but faster than tekken ... i can deal) ill pick it up for vita ... if its fast paced like the other games ill prob pass n wait for the next tekken or TxSF

Street Fighter X Tekken May Be Purchasable On Steam Soon

Or it's about to leave the storefront like another Capcom title.

Street Fighter X Tekken - A Look Back at the Franchise's Biggest Misfire

With Street Fighter 6 now upon us, it's time to look back at some classic Street Fighter titles, beginning with Street Fighter X Tekken.

It was a cool gamble imo. In reality, everyone were waiting for Namco version, Tekken X Street Fighter.

Ryuha1234h331d ago

I don’t know. I enjoyed this game. I thought it was a great crossover.

TricksterArrow330d ago (Edited 330d ago )

Yep, played very little of it, but from what I played, it was serviceable enough. Could've been better? Yes, but then again, you can say that about pretty much anything.

What killed this game was their planned reliance on GaaS with the whole gem system. It made little sense and made the game extremely unbalanced. Not to mention the unbalance of most of the characters, especially on the Tekken side

Sgt_Slaughter330d ago

Ahhh the game that Capcom had DLC on the disc on release yet you had to pay to unlock it

Street Fighter & Tekken - A Mash-Up Not Meant for Greatness

VGChartz's Daniel Parker: "Tekken and Street Fighter - two giants of the head-to-head fighting genre. A clashing of decades-old titans that was once thought to be a dream matchup that would never happen. It ignited a flame of excitement that quickly fizzled out and became a cautionary tale for game developers."

The inclusion of gems ruined it from the start.
