Will Nintendo dominate Sony and Microsoft at E3 this year?

Nintendo look all set to dominate the most prestigious gaming event of the year with the Wii U being released. Will Nintendo simply own E3 this year?

New hardware is the attention grabber, and I think that gives Nintendo a pretty big advantage. I do not think Sony will have any PS4 talk, but more keep the pressure on with their exclusive games, and I expect more Remote Play announcements, and even something that acts as a Wii U clone, much like the PS Move ripped and bettered the Wii controls.

That Vita hand-held is essentially the equivalent of the Wii U tablet, and if you've got a PS3... hey presto!?

It's Microsoft that are going to have a much tougher time at E3. I feel like they may actually be forced to show off their new box with some tech demos. It can go three ways for MS at E3 (1) They actually showcase new exclusive for their core audience (2) They ram Kinect down our throats for another E3 (3) New console, whether next home console or hand-held.

Why would Microsoft be "forced" to show off new hardware? Aren't they coming off their best year ever for the Xbox 360? Which saw them number 1 world wide?

Also, Kinect is selling great, around 20 million units sold thus far, could be over 30 million by the end of the year.

I wouldn't expect Microsoft to announce any new hardware this year.

I'd expect a price drop, which will push sales even higher for both the Xbox 360 and Kinect. Since the Wii U is coming out, I'd expect the 250 gig Xbox 360 to go down to $249 and the arcade to probably drop down to $149-$179. Kinect will likely see a price drop to $99, which will set off another Holiday frenzy.

I know people here like to dog on Microsoft for showing Kinect at E3, but believe it or not, that is what a company does when they set out a new piece of hardware, they support it and show consumers that they intend to keep supporting it. Microsoft did things the right way with Kinect, I know people here are more used to a company coming out with something and then not having and marketing or any showings at E3 or anywhere else, which is why those things don't sell.

It'll be another solid E3 for Microsoft, just not according to the folks here at News For Sony Gamers.

Nintendo will do good as well, Wii U, 3DS, games and features for the Wii U.

Sony has no choice but to push Vita and more Vita and probably will try to cram 3-D down our throats.
They will also show off some games per usual. God Of War 4, Starhawk ect...

I highly doubt Microsoft will reveal the next Xbox at E3 when they are coming off of their strongest year yet. With a huge 2012 lineup of Halo 4, Fable: The Journey, Forza Horizon, Minecraft, Steel Battalion: Heavy Armor, The Witcher II, Trials Evolution, Kinect Star Wars, Fez, Dust: An Elysian Tale, Deadlight, Fable Heroes, and so on, as well as tons of huge multiplatform titles and unannounced exclusives, they are going to have a packed show as it is. And they should certainly announce a price drop. The 360 was the best-selling console worldwide in 2011 and it hasn't even had a formal price drop since 2008! The PS3 just had one last fall!

Sony will show the future of PSN(SEN) and new games

MS will show Kinect titles, and more on TV apps and Windows 8 related news and next to nothing on exclusive outside Halo 4 and a new Forza.

Nintendo will show games and actual Launching Wii U titles.

Yeah, Nintendo will be tough to beat, this year. Even if you're not a fan, the new system, alone, will keep coming up in the conversation... I thought E3 2010 was the strongest for Nintendo, recently. They teased the 3DS in an exciting way, but mostly just have us great game previews. And that's what we really want are games! E3 2011 sucked. Zelda orchestra performance announcements, NO Wii games shown at all, a 3DS reel with only a handful of new games (Luigi is the one I specifically remember not being aware of beforehand...), and the Wii U controller reveal with a few 3rd party games not even running on the system. I was mostly disappointed because the system was still a year and a half away from release, so it was a really vague tease followed by basically no new info for a year... This year should be better. We're finally going to see games running on the system and how they look/control. We're definitely going to see more games, and finally some first party titles! Hopefully some new 3rd party stuff too (exclusives that aren't enhanced ports?). More 3ds software, like the 2D Mario that Iwata has mentioned... Maybe we'll get a glimpse or mention of Miyamoto's new original IP. I imagine there will be some sort of last ditch effort to get more Wii's out the door, like perhaps a new Wii Play title that could have exclusive features when played on the Wii U. There COULD be a Wii U name change.
So there's just so much going on with Nintendo due to their new console and the 3ds hitting its stride that it's going to be difficult NOT to be hearing a lot about them. Personally, launch games are usually pretty forgettable, so I hope we get glimpses at some Wii U games that ate coming down the line, even if they're another year or two away, I think that showing what the Wii U will eventually be handling is going to move a lot of systems.
I do think Microsoft will tease their new console. Even if it's just a target video with a logo at the end, it would push against the Nintendo announcements a bit and get people talking. Sony very likely will stay out of it for now, probably hyping the Vita.

well they definitely won last year, they were neck and neck with sony the year before. It's possible, they are likely to drop price for wii u plus the game lineups and my guess is the lineup for 3ds will also be incredibly impressive.

Meanwhile maybe we'll see something teased by microsoft or sony... however i imagine sony will probably be scaled down and microsoft might be up to something that could steal the show. You never know with the current 720 rumors.

I personally think that it would be fairly stupid for both MS and SONY to not announce a new console in the makings. MS more than SONY, sure they had a great year last year, but why leave it at that and not use the momentum to gain even more market share of the industry?

It would prove to be fairly silly to just wait another year or two to announce a new console. If the next Nintendo console can truly run games like that zelda demo they showed last year at E3, then MS and SONY will be on the ropes. Because lets face it, first party nintendo games plus plenty of 3rd party support would vault the Nintendo brand even higher than now.

I'm not saying that Sony or MS have crap brands and/or characters from series. But the fact is that Mario and all of his buddies are more world renowned than Nathan Drake.
