Ubisoft: Assassin's Creed 3 is faster, simpler, more coherent

The Creative Director of Assassin's Creed 3, Alex Hutchinson, has discussed the guidelines the developer is following in creating the game, saying that the focus is on keeping it relevant and offering more immediate gratification.

Can we get a crouch/cover button.

Moncole4449d ago

I hope this focuses more on stealth than fighting, because I always found the stealth parts a lot better and the fighting parts.

koehler834449d ago

That's because the combat has always been so mindless. Wait, wait, wait, counter-kill. Wait, wait, wait, counter-kill.

Stealth in AC games isn't particularly well done either because it's so easy, especially since the gun/crossbow has been involved. Just climb to the top of the nearest roof, aim and fire.

There's a lot of room for improvement in the implementation of both these systems which I feel are the core elements of the game.

Wait and counter is the boring way to play. Getting stuck in and reflex countering is how you drop people quickly whilst looking like a ninja pimp riding a zebra.

FlashBack4449d ago

Kurt Russell, I agreed with your comment just because of the ninja pimp riding a zebra

double post

They made the game simpler? No thanks. I prefer games with complex mechanics, not just hide in a hay pile, jump out and kill somebody, repeat. For an assassin game, the gameplay is too simple.

DaReapa4449d ago

Yeah, the same thing I was thinking. As if the series wasn't simple enough. And even worse, there's no difficulty setting. I beat AC:BH without upgrading weaponry or armor. I was done with the series after that.

Hey Ubi, here's a gun, don't shoot yourself in the foot.

*Ubi takes gun, aims at foot, empties clip*

At this point, only dummies have any hope left for Ubi-junk games.

Every industry has these issues

Some companies I’ve worked for were great and some were toxic as hell (UPS when I was a teenager was extremely toxic and I have heard it still is) It all starts at the top. They either hold people accountable , set standards and treat people with respect or the crap rolls downhill.
