Steel Battalion: is the "must have" core Kinect game

Steel Battalion was a bit of an entity at the Spring Showcase event simply because Microsoft placed a lot more emphasis on this game above all others.

We need another great mech game and so far this is shaping up to be an epic experience even if it envolves Kinect. I miss Chromehounds so much I'm willing to try anything that has me behind the controls of a mechanical monster. Gameplay videos look great.

Kyosuke_Sanada4439d ago

I suggest you look up Armored Core 5 as well. Its made by the same developers of Chromehounds.......

Captain Qwark 94439d ago

dude armored core 5 in two weeks!!!!!!!!!!!

Godmars2904439d ago

That not only could be a standard-only controller game, but apparently will need a standard controller.

Also have to wonder what happens if this game doesn't deliver? What that's says about Kinect.

yesmynameissumo4439d ago

I don't get it. It uses Kinect for "hand shaking or lever pulling". The game is played with the controller. Smoke and mirrors imo.

Frankfurt4439d ago (Edited 4439d ago )

Smoke and mirrors? LOL. You haven't read a word about the game and it shows. You control the mech itself with the controller, but everything related to your character and how he interacts with people inside and outside, getting in and out of the mecha is Kinect. There's other people inside the mecha and outside, you know.

yesmynameissumo4439d ago (Edited 4439d ago )

Missed the whole "hand shaking or lever pulling" in my previous comment, huh? Hahahaha!

bunt-custardly4439d ago

I like the sound of it. Hopefully a demo gets pushed out over LIVE pre-release so we can sample and see if it really is as good as it looks, and that I hope it is.

For the sake of 360 core fans, this game needs to be good. People have waited 2 1/2 years since Microsoft first said "Kinect will be for the core gamer" for there to be a single decent core experience on Kinect.

BrutallyBlunt4439d ago

What a dumb comment from someone claiming dedicated to gamers. It's pretty clear this user is a troll with huge amounts of pessimism towards the 360.

Hicken4439d ago

As opposed to being a 360 fanboy?

And, honestly, all it says is that he's skeptical about the Kinect. In fact, he doesn't actually mention or demean the 360 at all.

So I don't know where you got your "clarity" from, but it doesn't seem to be rooted in anything real.

Why From Software's worst game is worth learning from

Eurogamer:

"Heavy Armor might be the perfect Kinect game, or at least, the most honest, because it reveals how interesting life can be when technology gets in your way. Green-lighted way back when Kinect was known as Project Natal, the game posits a near-future in which a silicon-guzzling microbe has devoured every computer on the planet, setting back the science of combat to roundabouts the close of the first world war. Deprived of GPS, drones and other decadent trappings of 21st century warfare, the Earth's nations are obliged to duke it out in gas-powered mechs or "vertical tanks" that handle as elegantly as elephants in high heels."

Of course it is. You have to learn from your mistakes

Godmars2903196d ago

And the reason that it was one of From Soft's worst games is that it was tied to poor game accessory.

plmkoh3196d ago

TBH the game looked interesting on it's debut.

_-EDMIX-_3196d ago

Not something I want to remember that existed.

audiocafe3196d ago

As much as I like From's Souls games, I'm hoping they release another Armored Core at some point.

...just had to throw that out there

TheColbertinator3196d ago

Armored Core or Tenchu would be cool with me

Ignore death threats

It always seems like the video game industry can’t go a single week without handling death threats of some sort. At this point, they almost come with the territory for game developers, critics, or anyone else a select few people don’t like. However, the only way a person who receives death threats can combat them is by doing absolutely nothing.

Top Tuesday - The 10 worst video games ever.

MWEB GameZone writes: "The things that you love the most, are also the things that can hurt you the most. Which is just an unnecessarily complicated way of saying that there are really, really bad video games out there and they'll make you feel bad.

We've compiled a list of these aberrations so that you don't ever have to play them yourself."

Star Trek was pretty shocking.

I really thought the picture of the horse was a real game. Not even sure why I'm disappointed it isn't ;/ Also, Survivor? What's the real aim of the game? Survive the opening credits?
