Darksiders II is "the" Zelda game for adults

Darksiders II is looking bigger and better than its war themed predecessor and after viewing the latest build in action can firmly agree that this is the ultimate Zelda game for adults.

I was quite proud of the fact that the first game was a shameless Zelda clone, although the old school platforming mechanics held me back.

Classic RPG progression on the other hand might be just what this needs.

I am a adult and i love Zelda, Its games are one of the finest gaming creations ever. Looking at the recent Zelda Skyward Sword its watercolour artstyle was beautiful a game that could be considered art.

The characters the music were designed in passion and beauty that no other game can match. I mean a game with voice acting can creating characters that are believable and amazing.

Its game design is far superior to anything available in the market. First darksiders were a poor mans Zelda with GOW elements shoe horned into it which turned out to be a forgettable game.

Just by reading the title this article is full of bullshit.

The "it most have blood and GOREZ....and blood" attitude to be considered a mature game is really a juvenile way of thinking.

Think about classic Disney, pixar movies.
Both adults and young people can enjoy it.

when i think kids games i think stories that dont have any serious content. blood and gorez and blood and blood and gorez are games that i classify as juvenile. when a game has a story that has a kind of serious story is what i consider a mature game

lots of different age groups can enjoy all three types, but theres a market in mind when producing the game

Well, unless you've got kids there's little reason to own a Nintendo console, well maybe Zelda is enough. Still, the other platforms offer more vairety for the mature gamer, and if we can get a Zelda-like game, then that certainly should be one to watch.

Well... they do have to be 'mature' if you're looking for a mature game, though, right? I think people are taking mature as far as the level of development instead of mature as far as level of content. A story can be well-written and have in-depth characters and not be mature.

So, arguing the fact that Zelda or other Nintendo games aren't good isn't the purpose of the article. It's just about the level of maturity presented alongside the story/gamplay/etc.

I enjoyed the first Darksiders and it seemed very Zelda edque but definately not a LoZ replacement. This seems to be continuing that, yea mature adults can play Zelda but the story of Darksiders isnt quite geared for everyone like Zeldas story.

Besides potential Wii U purchasers get the best of both worlds Zelda and Darksiders....looks like a win-win to me

Even though the games are almost all rated E, I've tried getting kids to play Zelda, even as old as 10, and they often give up, it's too difficult for kids. Unless they are really hardcore kids. hahaha. I started playing Zelda on the original gameboy when I was 8 years old, and it was pretty difficult. But I was really determined to beat it! It was the first game I ever actually completed.

I think games like Bulletstorm are much more kiddie than Zelda. Some of the dialogue in that game would only appeal to a person who just learned how to curse.

Good thing it's coming out for wii u then I guess. I've always liked that style of game. Of course it's not like zelda games aren't made for adults too. But i'd like to see more games taking cues from that platforming exporation style of gameplay. Fps' are just stupid. I want to actually think to progress in a game.
