The difficulty lies in the fact that publishers see all the money that CoD has made for Activision and wants their developers to mimic that approach to bring in the money...but it doesn't work that way.
Just as MMOs crashed and burned trying to copy WoW, FPSs will not find an audience being a CoD clone. Hopefully a studio will be resolute and believe in a game they're making to force publishers to allow it, and it finds success.
Edit: Forgot to add in the fact that games are so expensive to make, that publishers see the CoD template as a safe bet to recoop money.
that's true, all the money that Call of Duty gets makes it harder for publishers to not copy it. That said I don't want to see next gen shooters be a one shooter generation of all Call of Duty clones.
if it's a straight GI Joe cookie cutter military shooter like COD I either pass altogether or wait for it to hit the bargain bin and may pick it up as a after thought just to have in my collection.
I prefer shooters like The Darkness & Bioshock or even a FPS RPG like Elder Scrolls or Deus EX.
Hello I was wondering if there was going to be any midnight releases for halo 4. i have tried to call my local future shop but got answer over and over and over again. so if anyone could help me out that would be great.

I have most of these, but there are still a few I might pick up. NBA Jam , Gotham City Impostors and Closure all seem interesting.
Anyone know if Gotham City Impostors still has an online community on PS3? That could be a deciding factor.
I havn't heard too many good things about the Gotham city community. It's on the low-end, although this sale will probably give it a nice boost.
is a fun game. I love the cheesy A-team type dialog.
Pick it up if you have not already done so. Plus, the expansion is worth getting as well.
I played Gotham City Impostors few weeks ago, and I had no problem finding matches.
It would be nice if they rotated the deals everyday like Steam does. Sony's summer sale is a little bit anti-climactic. Its strange that they've managed to come out with their sale before Steam has this year.
look, i'm glad for the summer sale and all that stuff, but what are the 3 FREE games we're supposed to get this month? It's suppose to rotate 3 games each month out of the 12 from the previous.

Probably not. It scored terribly and the fact that it's a licensed movie game is another clue.

They have a yearly summer sale that's crazier than all the others. It's just... late considering it's always been on the last Thursday of June. There were a few registry updates with "Summer 2012" attatched to it a couple days ago, so it's definitely coming.
But it's almost as if... the Steam sale is following Valve Time. D:

You kidding me? The Multiplayer section has it's own trophy set with a platinum. What's the point in that? Might as well just implement the original trophies.
