Assassin's Creed III GameInformer Scans Revealed

Scans of the GameInformer feature of Assassin's Creed III have been revealed today.

It looks like they were influenced by Skyrim. We can now climb trees and the settings look very attractive. I never admired the series because of the graphics, but this time I notice a huge leap in visuals with extremely polished character models, textures and environments (I know those are bullshots but still they give you an idea and the game won't be far from them, I concluded that is a new engine and now it is confirmed).

this has been in development since Assassin's Creed 2 came out and before Skyrim was even announced, i don't think skyrim had any influence on it

My only concern (since the Protagonist is half Mohawk) is that they get the Haudenosaunee right (ie Longhouses, farming, etc.). I don't want to see any Teepees!!

And if they are doing the Mohawk, then will the other Haudenosaunee play a role. Very interesting....

It's coming from when devs would put out screenshots saying that that's how a game is going to look, and then when it releases it looks much worse. See FFXIII for example. It's a play on bullsh*t and screenshot because of the lies.

Yeah it looks epic! And I can't wait for the multiplayer too. This series has the best, most rewarding and original MP ever! This is definitely gonna be a worthy $60 purchase.

As of right now I'm doing a game marathon of Mass Effect series, playing the first, second, and last when it's release.

This sounds better than I ever imagined. Red Dead Redemption, AC-style (and with stealth, one thing I felt RDR lacked) and climbable treesm in one of my favorite time periods.

And I live in upstate New York, so it going to be super awesome to actually visit places I've been to (like Saratoga). Finally a location that have an actual connection to!

My respect for the franchise has been redeemed, has Ubisoft shown the game and it had been utilising the same engine, I would again find myself hugely dissapointed. Despite purchasing the first two titles, collectors edition on release date, I didn't get "Brotherhood" or "Revalations" due to the announcement that the franchise was entering annual release but I always claimed that I would return to the franchise with the release of the third numbered installment IF it improved upon it's predecessors as much as the second did over the original, and through utilising a new engine alone it has done enough to warrant a return to "Assassins Creed".

Congratulations Ubisoft, the game is sounding fantastic...

You are missing out on a lot. Yes, they're annual releases but they're amazing games and honestly you're probably not going to understand half of the things in Assassin's Creed III if you don't at least rent them and play through the storyline. I also think it's pretty stupid that you didn't even give them a chance. You didn't even play Brotherhood to at least SEE if the annual releases would damage the franchise?

I played the Multiplayer Beta's and have a friend of who loves the series (a lot!) and therefor has kept me updated on the storyline AND shared his dissapointments with both titles. Also, "Assassins Creed: Revelations" before even the end of it's month of release was hailed as one of the largest disappointments of 2011.

"Assassins Creed II" HUGELY improved upon it's predecessor, when "Assassins Creed: Brotherhood" was announced with few improvements and an (at the time) unwanted multiplayer, I consider myself to not have been alone in feeling greatly disappointed.

They are annual releases but at least they have decent quality unlike CoD, which uses the same engine over and over again just with minor modifications.

Okay, this DEFINITELY sounds like Assassin's Creed III - a worthy sequel to a good franchise.

While I love the franchise, Brotherhood and Revelations felt more like expansion packs trying to milk a little more out the property.

However, Assassin's Creed III sounds like they're doing what made Assassin's Creed II a phenominal game. Can't wait for more information to come!

They could have gone a whole different route...or continued to produce similar games but this re-invigorates the series in a major way. The American Revolution was a huge turning point in history and being able to obviously have a hand in the revolution is awesome.

I think some of us were expecting maybe Japan & Ninjas but this is truly awesome.

This game is looking to be, in my opinion, the best of the series yet.
Now, of course I don't know much about it, but I'm speaking on the few screenshots.
The environments, the setting, and the atmosphere of the few screenshots look excellent.
Also, the use of the dog and the deer, seems like it could add a new element to the game.
The ability to scale and hide in the trees, as well as possibly crouch, sounds great.

So far, the game just looks a little more like what I've wanted from the AC series ..
Not to mention, it's looking like there is more of a focus on stealth, that last installments.

Im curious as to how they'll fit the story in. since they've been working on it for 3 years, along side the spin offs. Maybe the team who worked on ACR and ACB are doing the Desmond time, while the other team does the Connor part.

this really is revolutionizing the series once again. From reading these details, it seems it will be Red Dead Assassin's Creed, which IMO would be an amazing duo. I cant wait until I'm moving across enemy lines during a huge line battles has bullets are whizzing past me, cannon balls are flying around, and huge bayonet charges are in the works.

Definitely see the RDR resemblance a bit and appreciate that as well. Fighting the British in that time period alone is mind-blowing. Bring on the revolution!

I wonder if this means we will see an Assassin's Creed sequel taking place during the Civil War as well...

It would be interesting as well. I do wish that AC3 had fights taking place in the south, like in the swamps of Georgia and whatnot, but nonetheless this game is going to be amazing.I am a big fan of Empire Total War and this game will bring back memories of the Revolution.

One thing bothers me about the story. Matt Miller wrote, "An ambitious setting catapults the series forward into the 18th century to witness the dawning of democracy in the New World."

Well, it sounds pretty, but it's wrong. "The Republic for which it stands." Our policies were written with a Republic in mind... we were created as a Republic. Where did this whole "We're a democracy" thing kick in?

I don't know about anyone else, but in the past few iterations of AC the combat has been overwhelmingly easy.

8 guys surrounding me, attacking one at a time and dispatched with a single counter-move? Not to mention the counter-kill stringing which easily turns one counter kill into a dozen kills in less than 10 seconds. There was zero challenge when you can single-handedly take out every enemy around in a matter of seconds with just a couple button presses while receiving absolutely no damage.

I hope they've improved upon that significantly. I'd really like to see multiple enemies trying to rush me at once, and having to incorporate more evasive actions into the combat.

In a nutshell, please Ubisoft, make the combat more challenging and not so dismissive. I get that I'm an assassin, but when I feel more like a unstoppable killing-machine/mass murderer it really detracts from that assassin image.
