Pocket Gamer: You can kind of see where Big Fish Games was coming from with Fairway Solitaire. Take two perennially popular desktop time sinks, bang them together, and see what pops out at the other end.
Quite what kind of voodoo's at work here we don't know, but Fairway Solitaire pulls off its unlikely golf/card combo with aplomb. It's a fairly traditional deck-clearing game married to a host of neat gameplay twists and framed within a faintly tenuous golfing veneer.
Carl Williams writes, "Solitaire games are a dime a dozen on the various app stores. We have covered one or two here and there such as Microsoft Solitaire (review here). While the Microsoft release featured many variations of Solitaire, Fairway Solitaire features one: golf. You may be thinking this is going to suck, only having one variation available versus many. The devil is in the details, as they say, and that is where Fairway Solitaire shines."
